Every NHL season we get about 20 skaters and 2 goaltenders together a few times for a post-Kings game skate at Staples Center. Well, we are trying to get one together for Wednesday, November 1st after the Kings play against Sid the kid, Malkin (hopefully) and the rest of the Penguins.

Here's how it works - The Kings let us play if we sell a certain amount of tickets to the game. You have the option to either sell 7 tickets (including your ticket) in the upper section for a $24.50 each ($171.50 total) or you can sell 4 tickets (including your ticket) in the lower bowl for $50.00 each ($200.00 total).

If you pay by PayPal, there is an extra charge of $6.86 for the upper bowl seats and $8.00 for lower bowl seats. The reason for this extra charge is because PayPal takes fees out of the person receiving the money, and my friend who sets the games up would be out a lot of her own money if she had to pay all the fees on her own. However, if you send her a personal check, there are no extra fees (obviously :) ).

At about the 10 minute mark of the third, we will head to the Staples Center lobby, where we get escorted by a worker down to the "bowels" of the arena to get dressed.

We play 3 20 minute running-time periods, but with only 10 players per side, you'll get plenty of ice time. Guys and gals, all skill levels are welcome! We currently have 10 skaters and 1 goaltender signed up and we need to get to 20 skaters and 2 goaltenders.

It's a lot of fun and something you'll remember for a long time. If anyone's interested, please PM me and I will give you more details.

Thanks,

Fletch

Wha?  You in CA now, Chadd?

No, but I don't have to pay to get there. ;)

Nice....

Well, let me know as soon as you can.

The Canucks/GM Place used to do the same thing 5-6 years ago. (not sure if they still do it) The Orca Bay sales associates didn't want to spend their time running the clock, showing people to the dressing rooms, etc... so they got volunteers to do it in exchange for free tickets. Very cool, as we got to wander around GM place before the NHL game, see CBC set up shop, etc...
