Pro stock mission blades

Recommended Posts

FTW: I just got off the phone with Monkey and the Brennans I ordered were out of stock (shitty). The broad told me that there were 55 of the 01-003s left (well, 48 now). I pray to the Hockey Gods they're all the watered-down YPs that were posted earlier. If not, I'll post pictures (after throwing a fit).

Yeah, I ordered some Parise's online over a week ago. I noticed my order was "on hold" for 6 days... so I called them, they were out. So I asked some questions in regards to suitable replacements, and the chick had no clue what I was talking about. I just cancelled the order... I may, or may not throw another one in at a later date. I just want something as close to a Sakic clone as I can... and with those vids on the site, god only knows... what I do know is, I feel like an idiot holding my sticks upside down to properly match Monkey's angle.

Has anyone bought any of these blades lately? If so, do any of the righty blades left have a medium or long taper, as opposed to the more common short taper?

So I ordered a Mystery Curve and an Umberger for my Christian Torch shafts that I got on clearance. I was really suprised with the mystery curve, it was an exact clone of my One90 P91. The Umberger on the other hand… well it looks like a blade that has been used on concrete for a summer being thin as can be.

Mystery Curve:

Mystery Curve #1

Mystery Curve #2

Mystery Curve+ P91

Umberger:

Umberger #1

Umberger #2

I have a Brunette pro stock, which seems similar to the P14 with maybe less curve. It's like the Sakic but with less curve and loft, a bit shorter blade (both length and height).

Oh and does anyone know if there are any deeper toe curves in LH?

it seems the blades are made out of wood, so it would make sense that if you are putting them in your tapered shaft, you would be able to give a little curve with the heat gun, which you should be using to put the blade into shaft anyway, and there you go custom blades!

I just ordered two as I have a Brunette SL sitting around and used it this weekend. Love the curve. How do you like it so far?

Have 2 Redden tapered's also, tried but the rocker/lie is too much for me.

It's great, seems to have a good feel for the puck, kind of a flatter curve.

What are those Reddens all about?

Mission Tapered No Finish

Did you guys find that adding a clear coat (or two) added more durability to those blades?

I've got 2 blades on the way and an old can of polyurethane lying around in the basement.

As promised, here's my update.

Got the Mission composite blades today. UPS fees: 22.50$ca for 2 blades that were 10$us each. :o

Next time, I'm having stuff shipped to my in-laws in NYC.

Here's a pic of the first one, looks like a TPS Nash pattern to me but I'm no expert

Sticker said Mission RB PRO 06 TPR 001 R

2nd one is very odd, and very opened at the toe and shorter. It had no sticker on it.

Here's a pick of them drying after the 1st coat

Enough with the pissing and moaning because that's far less than I'd pay for simple shipping from those guys.

BTW #2 is a beaut.

I would happily pay that shipping up front, it's only when it comes out of nowhere to bite you in the ass when you thought you got a good deal.

I don't think it's any better either way. At least there's a chance it could be lower (well, even higher maybe) but I'm flat out screwed on anything. People seem to avoid using USPS and it's pretty damned annoying but I reckon that's the price to pay for living here.
