Ho fast can you shoot?

Recommended Posts

My coach has a puck that has a gadget in it that tells you the shot speed. I don't know how accurate it is. My best so far was a blindly fast 25mph. How's that for underimpressive.

One of my teammates has the same puck. We tested it last sunday at practice. My hardest slapshot was 150km/h (94mph) at a bw. of 240lbs, but i was only second with that speed  ..

My teammate's hardest slapper was 173km/h (108mph). But this guy is a freak of nature 6,2ft 295lbs. He's a 2 times Swedens strongest man compeditor and the only swede ever to have beaten the world strongest man from -1998 Magnus Samuelsson..

~ $50 USD? Not bad if works well. I want one.

I've broken a puck on the post...however it was really cold...

pucks cracking is more-so from the cheaper additives they put in them, as opposed to power/conditions...

I don't think the puck is right then. Strength is only like 10% of shooting. And someone that big probably being quick enough to shoot that fast.

Only time I got my shot clocked was 10 years ago. I was 18 at that time and it was 151 km per hour..not sure what that is in mp/h

I think the puck is right.. Last year a team from the Swedish second division had their preseason camp in our city. When they had finished an ice session, a few of their players stayed at the rink to join in at our practice.. They all agreed that they never seen anybody shoot as hard as this guy on my team..

This guy isn't allowed to shoot slapshots in practice when someone is in front of the net.

im 17, 6'2" 200 lbs and im playing midget AAA hockey and i shatered the bottom of a goalies mask coming down on my off wing (with a CCM V130T with a lidstrom synthesis blade).. i broke my goalies blocker in practice ( tps Rubber XX stiff, yes i know old school haha with a drury synergy blade) and I broke 2 windows in my liftetime. At the skills competition for franco hockey i clocked 89 MPH.

and to answer hot sauces question: With an ice puck

i have been clocked in many skills competitions at 91 MPH and the fastest out of all college players was 96 mph the winner shot 96mph, many guys shot between 89 and 95 however only one beat the 95 marker, and won the competition. every mile an hour after 89 makes a huge difference just as in major league pitching, I find it hard to believe some of the exaggerations made on here,....all tests in our skills comp were done with a speed pro sports specific radar gun.

Midget is a combined age group in toronto, so 16-18 years depending on when your birthday is.

in colorado, i'm a midget (15-18) and last i checked i had a 78 mph slapper on ice, 87 on roller (lighter puck). my snap shot is what i use the most though. i've won a few accuracy competitions with it and it was clocked at about 74 with roller pucks.

I'm 12, and I put a lot of time into perfecting my slapshot. With my CNT steath I am shooting low 80 in roller and in ice probably high 60. Never have checked speed on ice. It took me forever to figure out the right amount of pressure to put on the stick and how far behind the puck to hit it at but skating six hours a day has payed off.
