TPS PTC Blades

Recommended Posts

Just got back from a LHS after getting a PTC blade for $55. First thing, this blade must be damn near the lightest blade Ive ever picked up. Its extremely thin, basically being a xn10 blade. the PTC design itself looks very interesting, two channels running right down the side of the hosel. Not quite sure how that will work with energy transfer but I'll find out on Monday I guess. I can post pics of the final retail product if someone can host. There are basically no graphics, just stickers.

The shop I was at had L-2 also, a lot of Hulls and a few Elias'. They were 169.99.

Lego (or anyone else),

EPuck now has L-2s in stock...sort of. The only combo pack they have is Elias (not sure if they're 85 or 100s). Priced at $169.99

They also have the shafts alone ($99.99) and blades alone ($49.99) Hull and Elias only I believe.

I also just saw the PTC blade in person the other day. That thing is hella-light! And it's just so peculiar looking with the carved channels on the sides of it. It's either going to sell as well as Z-Carbs or go over like a lead zeppelin. If I can find a RH Nash, I'm going to guineau pig it.

I really don't need another shaft/blade combo.... but if I "happen" to stop by my LHS and see them there, I might be tempted to give it a shot. I will eventually try that combo though.

DGar, or anyone else who has seen or used a L-2, are they more flexible than their rating? I know that my 110 Synthesis feels like a 100, and I've notcied that on every other short hosel tapered shaft combo.

I didnt care to ask what else they had, I just needed a Tkachuk. They did say they havent sold many and just got them in so theres a good chance they have a Nash in RH.

as for the L-2 flex rating, I have no clue, I didnt flex it. mostly because I didnt want to tempt myself with another stick :)

My 85 synthesis was definitely more whippy than the listed flex. I wonder if Easton used the same type of fibre composition, but didn't account for the extra 3 inches.

EDIT: Thanks anyway dgaronzik. I don't head down to delval very often, so I figured I'd ask. Actually, don't they have a store near King of Prussia? Ever been there?

Whip, its essentially the xn10 blade, standard hosel. The sides of the hosel are scalloped out, difficult to explain. You need to see the blade in person.

80s movie trivia: e Buzz

If you look at the PTC pics that have been in the catalogs, where the area is painted and has the logo on the hosel is where the channel is. Instead of painting them or putting a sticker on the area, the retail versions just show the carbon (pretty cool). Anyone know the idea behind it, seems like it wouldnt really do much but reduce weight.

Geki - 'Bout time someone got it.
