Stick tape

Recommended Posts

What's the best way to keep from getting tape residue build-up on your palms? Taping top to bottom, or bottom to top. Any other suggestions would be great also.

I use Lowry brand tape, it's the least tacky stick tape I can find locally. When I tape up a handle on a new stick I'll always work it in with my top hand with a little bit of water and baby powder if needed. I keep working it in until I can't feel the tack from the tape anymore; it takes a little while. I rotate through a pair of Franchises with Digital palms and a pair of CP94 with MSH2 palms and I have absolutely no tape residue on either glove.

Baby Powder, really? Does anyone else use baby powder on the handle of their stick?

Been doing it for years and can attest that it saves palms.

Isn't sportstape known to wreck palms?

Since I switched to Sportstape Gauze tape I find that my palms wreck the tape moreso than the tape wrecks the palms.

The gauze tape definitely isnt very durable. It comes off pretty fast since it only sticks to itself. It also rips pretty easily. It works if you want recandycane it every couple ice times.
