How many of you guys use girdles? I'd never seen anyone use one until we were in Vegas a few months ago and we had to pick up a couple players. One of them used a girdle and it looked comfortable and protective. Are there any pros/cons compared to regular pants?

Girdles are usually lighter with less bulk, but also offer less protection. They also fit tighter to the body, obviously.

I wear the Easton Synergy girdle. It is much lighter than pants, and there will usually be some extra padding on pro stock shells (I use the NBH seen above, which has extra padding on the back of the legs and on the top.

Unfortunately, Linden doesn't much game anymore so now he resorts to skating behind players and yelling "boo!" in an attempt to scare them away from the puck.

How do you consider the girdle less protection? There are currently over 140 players in the NHL in the MBP girdle. That is almost 25% wearing girdles.

just because the pros wear them doesn't mean that there's greater protection, it just means it's what they prefer.
