what to put on stick for grip?

Recommended Posts

im not sure if there has been a post on this before. if there was sorry for the repeat. does anyone know of anything besides pine tar that could put on my stick to give it a little grip. i have an easton stealth cnt (non grip) obviously and a custom color vapor xx stick. the vapor xx has a grip to it i would like to duplicate on the stealth. does anyone have any suggestions? i was thinking of aerosol spray on glue you can get at craft stores. i dont know maybe im dumb. any help much appreciated.

Search. You'll find plenty.

I've always found something I call 'tape on a stick' to be effective (it has recently come to our attention that some have gotten into the practice of calling this a "beater").

It's murder on your gloves, though - when I used this method, I was going through a relatively large number of palms each season.

Just trying out some Pow'r Tac - as recommended by somebody here.

Applied as recommended - too damn tacky - glove sticks to my stick now - put a layer of tape over it and will try just a quick coat instead of 2.

buy friction tape and rub it on the shaft of your stick. it depends how much you put on for how sticky you want it, with me i like a lot of grip so my stick basicly looks black

A little soap and water should help take the grip off.

A little Pow R Tac goes a long way. Not much needed at all. One can will last you a year or more.

I've been messing with Spray Laquer in a can.

I spray it on the shaft....and while it's still wet I dabb or dimple it with a terry cloth type towel to give it some grip.

Seems to be working okay.

Easton sells a tackifying cloth, calls it a 'pine tar substitute'

i use the so called 'beater', but only on the bottom of the shaft. i find using it on all 4 sides gives you he-man grip.

sure helps with the wet noodle grip on mission shafts :D

I thought about using the Beater to add grip but then heard it wasnt good for you gloves. Then i heard about Laquer spray. Is this better on your gloves then using the beater (less where on your palms)? As i live in the UK I was looking around for a spray and these came up.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/searchtemplate.asp...=LAQUER%20SPRAY

Can anyone tell me if these would be any good? Or would they just stick your gloves to your stick.

As I live in the UK I cant get hold of things like Rubberize spray (not that i can find. Or the tackifying cloths)

here's a sorta on but sorta off topic question for this thread...

how is this type of thing for glove palms? i have mia's on the way, & i want to treat them as well as i can. two of my warrior sticks are grip, the other isn't. i'd probably use the one that isn't, but i like the grip. i was thinking of using only grip & no tape with the mia's, would this stuff be bad?

i have a warrior dolomite grip. i taped a grip and then put some stretchy grip tape(its renfrew, i think grip tape or something). no holes in my palms(have Easton Air gloves)
