There is no way eagle will just go out of business like that. Eagle gloves are hot right now and all the people I talk to want eagles.(well, where Im from anyway)

I'm not saying they're going to go out of business, I'm saying they're going to have to change their pricepoint eventually.

Also, they may be "hot" in your area but they've been WIDELY available in my area for over 4 years now. I've seen their popularity going down for the last year or so around here, their price isn't going to help that.

Geki, you would be surprised how much the high price helps them be cool in some areas. The "poor folk" can't afford them and the kids whose parents have cash have yet another way to prove they're cooler.

I see it all the time at the rink.

Very true Chad. I've seen that all the time, the kids may blow at hockey, but if there parents have money the get all the Best equipment when the cant even shoot or stand up proving the have no skills in the game of hockey ! LoL

Eagle sort of has a glove monopoly, at least around here. Kids refuse to even look at other gloves, let alone try them on. I'd say that on the peewees bantams and midgets, literally 60-70% of the kids have X70s. They say my HGTs are so uncomfortable because "the fingers curve and aren't straight and aren't wide enough at the finger tips". Dumb kids.

The situation is kind of like owning a really fast car, why buy something that cost a fortune and has a lot of horse power when you are only going to be doing 100 on the highway and 60 on the roads its pointless. Eagles are for the "cool rich kids" while anything else gets looked down upon because its not eagle. I seen a kid refuse to buy a new pair of gloves even tho hes plams are ripped and cuffs are litteraly hanging off of the glove and yet he still doesnt buy a new pair and doenst get made fun of becasue it is eagle. A lot of midget and bantam players in ball hockey go for the eagle gloves where I live.

While i own eagles, i totally agree with most of statements above. Sure i didnt pay full price for my eagles, but they're certainly weren't under $100. I used to wear m1's due to sponsorship reasons, but i didnt have a problem with them. They're a solid glove with a good price, but i just like the eagle fit better. I come from an area with money no one in my leagues wear eagles except for me. Most of them are wearing high quality gloves in the mid price range.

"You get what you pay for" certainly pertains to eagle gloves. Sure they're gloves are $140+, but theres really no glove with the fit/comfort of the eagles.

Depends what you prefer, Eagles are lose fitting and I prefer something a lil tigher. My lhs just got in the Bauer XX and those things are the greatest they are extremely comfortable and the glove feels like it is part of my hand and because of its strecth it follows my hands quite well.

Hey guys,

Do some of you know websites that already sell the pro players gloves series?

And is it possible to get Fedorov gloves in an other color through my LHS?

I'm back from my LHS. I ordered 2 pairs (1 for me and 1 for my brother) of Fedorov gloves but the gloves will be all red and all the things that are write on the gloves will be white...

I tried on the x70's and while they were ok, I didn't find them anything really special. I saw a lonely pair of blue HGT's as well and those fingers are funky. It has the whole Dr. Claw thing happening, but I like the way the fingers close. Are the tapered fingertips supposed to fit further away from your fingertips than normal gloves? It's possible I tried on a size too big as well.

Were the HGT's you tried on retail or were they nylons? On the retails the fingers are really long beacuse of the angeld pad between the backrolls and the fingers. You can see it really well on the glove on the left here. Combined with the finger tips that angled forward it makes for really long feeling fingers. I couldn't use mine becasue everytime I took my bottom hand off my stick the index finger was catching when I would try to grab it back. Annoying. The good news is that the pro nylons I have (see here) and all the ones I have seen don't have either the pad between the backrolls or the angled finger tips. They feel pretty much just like normal fingers only better IMO due to the taper, well placed breaks, and seamless index.

i dont know if this is the same problem that jay had with his hgt's, but with mine i find that the index finger is so curved to close that when i take my hand off the shaft of my stick and go to grab it again, the fingers stay closed and get caught on the shaft. its pretty tedious. i like my hgt's, but the more i use them, the more i wish i got the x50's instead...i really hate how the finger segments overlap each other (how theyre angled). it makes it almost impossible to open ur hand completely

Damn fingers are still too short in the HGTs. I liked them but they don't make them in real adult size.

Go "custom" and get longer fingers like Shark did.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. My index finger tip would sit in the middle of the last break. It drove me nuts. The pro HGT's do not do that becasue the fingers are normal length and don't have the angled forward tips.

I'm not sure what year they were but the fingertips were really long and quite pointy. They've probably been sitting on the shelf for quite some time and don't really look like either picture. I'm pretty sure they were retail, they certainly weren't nylon.

I'm somewhat relieved that I'm not the only one who experiences the annoying catching of the index finger on the bottom hand because it's too curved and doesn't open easily. I find 95% of the gloves I try on have that problem in the store. I know I've expressed my dislike for such gloves before, but I've just never read many complaints about it so I thought it was just me and a couple others. Now I understand why people are big on the custom glove orders.

So it's basically Fedorov's gloves from when he was in Detroit?  Also, how much extra for each?

I'll know it today(Friday)

Fedorov didn't use tapered fingers in Detroit, to the best of my knowledge, so they won't be exactly the same as the ones he wore then.
