Oakley AFR Spray Problems

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Can't get the Oakley spray anywhere in my province. No store is carrying it anymore. Any suggested altenatives? I just bought a spray called 'fog away'. It seems pretty mild. It has no strong cleansing agents in it. Is it safe to use on my visor? Thanks guy's.

Thanks srv2miker and ODP. :)

On another note, does anyone know why there is a "warn" sign under my statistics(I have an idea, but it showed up after my first post)?

I guess my main concern is whether the stuff i bought will damage my visor. Anybody know for sure? JR?

I'd be really leery, because I already screwed one Oakley visor so I'm extra careful.

I think there was a thread on this a long time ago but people were saying how either Oakley or Itech (can't remember which) visors will crystalize if you use anything other than their respective sprays. I just use water on my oakleys and they're perfectly fine.

Many chemicals will ruin an Oakley

I just switched to an oakley visor from itech. I was getting ready for a game the other night and i accidentally sprayed normal visor cleaner on my visor...i realized my mistake immediately...but it worked fine and caused no problems. when i get home i can post what the cleaner was called. if you are interested let me know.

1. add a thin layer of dish detergent then wipe off

2. anti-spray fog from a store that sells eye-glasses

3. anti-spray fog from store that sells sunglasses

*disclaimer* - while it worked fine the first few times, I cannot vouch that it will be fine all the time... so here goes-

I actually used a drop dish detergent on the first Oakley visor I had... the first few times, it worked fine. No fog, spiderwebs, nothing.

then a few weeks later I figured I'd grab some AFR to give it a new coat of the anti-fog coating... and it developed a ton of little cracks. I was guessing the AFR reacted with the dish soap I had used.
