How much do you pay to play hockey?

Recommended Posts

We pay a team fee that works out to $300 or so per player, 20 games, 13 players. Playoffs are free but we have to pay refs and scorekeepers.

We were slated to pay $400, but a few guys wound up not playing so it got bumped up. I think we have 12 skaters that paid. No fees for the playoffs.

How many weeks is that?

I think I paid $450 this winter season (26 games plus playoffs).

Yeah , I think it is around 26 games plus playoffs. Also 2 of the rinks are run by the same people so the first place team from each night and each rink play in a free tourney.

Only downfall , single Elim !

$65 for ten games plus playoffs. But still, if you make it 26 like yours, its still only $130. You guys should move down here to illinois

And this is why I play inline!

Typical 10 game (11 if you make playoffs and championship!) season runs $1200 per team at the highest, and I've seen $900 on the low end.

Skating 8 guys and a goaltender (which we never have pay) you end up at $150 a guy, and on the low end, 112 a guy.

Much cheaper than ice!

I paid like $135 only plus USA Hockey fees. A team is only $2500 unless your new team which is only $200 more. 12 games plus playoffs and all-star game so they say...cept I don't think it's ever happened.

I don't play on the league, but in Tacoma, WA it's $50 per month and I hear you get 4-5 games a month. Which is pretty good considering I pay $16 for 1.5 hours of pickup time for organized pickup, and $9 for 1.5 hours of unorganized pickup.

summer pick-up works out to ~ $7-8 per hour (well, 50 minutes with the flood)

My local league costs depend on the season (since they vary in length). Spring season (which starts the 28th) runs $325 for 16 games + at least one playoff game (all the playoff games, if you keep winning, are included in the original fee). Goalies pay $175. Summer is cheaper (shorter season) and I think Fall is more expensive (slightly longer).

You also get discounted public skating times and access to the Center Ice Lounge, which has TVs with the Center Ice package.

USA Hockey fee +

-For hockey in Utah where I play, it's $175 (This is for house league, co-ed travel, drop-in and practices.)

-For my women's team here in Colorado, since I am a goalie I only had to pay $100 and that got me all jerseys for the year (unless you buy them), practices, 15 games, league tournament and other tournaments. Skaters had to pay $225.

So ice isn't bad around here. It's the driving either an hour one way or an hour and a half the other way where I pay the most for our outrageous Colorado gas prices.

Where I used to play inline it was a crappy outdoor facility and we paid $85 for 6-8 games and no playoffs.

wow, and to think I got irked when my roller leagues went up. Used to be 75 for 12 games and playoffs, now it's 90. 90 every two months for the league and playoffs plus a 25 annual fee. Dunno about ice around here though, though last I knew a couple hours of drop in for ice was only 6-7 dollars.

$1500 US to play here in Ann Arbor Mich.

That's for AA winter season. Tourouments are extra!!

Kinda explains why I may not be allowed to play next year.

Kinda sucks. Equipment and Gas/Hotels taken into consideration. That is expensive. Anybody else have to pay for their own hockey stuff?? Us kids I mean??
