LkptTiger 1 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 If there is truth to this "illegal/legal" code thing, and if I had to guess, I would say that his first and third sticks (from the left) - the ones with the liquor bottle and pee pee, respectively - would be the "illegal" ones as the drawings, much like the blades, possibly, are somewhat "inappropriate." TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 was what you sed intelligent.....ovechkin is what 21 years old and draws cartoons on his sticks..thats proffesional...hes a flame bagFirst off, work on your grammar. Second, explain to me how does drawing pictures while retaining the shape of his number makes him a "flamer?" I'll never understand the immaturity of some people on this board. Sure it's not the most "manliest" thing in the world to do but do you really know about his sexual orientation? Maybe it's just a case of the pot calling the kettle black. RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 Ovechkin is a character...on the ice...and off the ice. I can't wait until he has a better grasp of English...he's gonna be an even bigger riot when he can communicate better.Look at his commercial with Ted Leonisis...so simple...but so funny. NJ35 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 Its absolutely hilarious. You look at guys like Ovy, Sid, Malkin and Colby Armstrong, Staal. All those guys are right around my age and do the same shit we do before games just messing around. They are young and doing exactly what hockey is all about. Having fun. Let him live. Hes plain nasty at hockey and he has fun doing what he loves while making millions of dollars. Call me when you do that.

I'll try to find some day pics of Datsyuk and Zetterberg. They could give tips to the queer eye for the gay guys. Can't see it to well but heres one:Nothing really ridiculous but metro is the best way to describe most euro players in the NHL

Viking 1 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 I would hate to be a North American in a Euro-heavy NHL dressing room. I must have seen 5 different interviews with players complaining about all the techno music in the dressing room. I can't deal with that stuff - if I played for the Rangers or something, I'd demand to be traded. Red jeans and yellow sneakers, and whatever Datsyuk and Zetterberg wear are the fashion equivalent of techno music, I figure.

Plus there aren't exactly going "LOOK AT MY FLASHY NEW JEANS!".Also, a lotta people here seem to take what Ovechkin done to his stick a bit seriously. Come on guys, hockey's a game. Well, let me say my initial comment somewhere on the first page about him being "flamboyant" had nothing to do with his sexual orientation.. if you jumped to that conclusion, so be it. Main Entry: 1flam·boy·antPronunciation: -&ntFunction: adjectiveEtymology: French, from present participle of flamboyer to flame, from Old French, from flambe1 often capitalized : characterized by waving curves suggesting flames <flamboyant tracery> <flamboyant architecture>2 : marked by or given to strikingly elaborate or colorful display or behavior <a flamboyant performer>
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 It's quite common to use the word "flamer" as a demeaning way to call someone a homosexual. Also, I wasn't speaking to you. I am aware of what flamboyant means, you don't need to bring out definitions. If you want to explain any definitions to anyone try explaining it to pmr149. TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 I agree completely. There's a big difference between being flamboyant and gay, it's just a stereotype that the two are one in the same. Even if Ovey was gay who cares? It's as stupid as caring about what he draws on his sticks, and that was my point. Whatever floats his boat. If he likes to draw pictures on his sticks, fine. If he likes other men, fine. I don't see why people would care or think less of his talent because of something as stupid as this.

My initial reply to your post wasn't me trying to bust on your response... I just put it out there, because after I used the word flamboyant, a few others replied with "flamer" etc, and that wasn't in any way where I was going with my response.
