mackallica 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 The Synergy 1500C I belive is the lightest skate. 745 Grams or something? The S15 is going taking the place of the 1500C and the S15 is supposed to be 700 grams. The S11, I think, is still supposed to be ligher than 745, though.

The S15 will be the lightest (and they ditched the ShockDoctor sole)

bainsstatic 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 What would you say the lightest ones in the sub-$150 category are? I'm looking for a pair for rec league - something lighter than my current CCM 452s.
warrior37 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 if youre only spending $150 or less then you shouldnt be worrying about weight

I'm looking for a pair for rec league - something lighter than my current CCM 452s.Sub-$150 you're looking at a Bauer Vapor XIV, they are relatively light. If you can find a Vector 6.0 2005 model those are fairly light as well. Eastons old Ultralite is pretty good too. For just $50 more though, I'd look for closeout top of the line skates from 1-2 yrs ago, they are super light light.
Biaggi 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 You know this weight issue is getting bad when a skate company ditch's an insole because it makes the skate wiegh too much.

furlanitalia 1 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 So wait, the S15's have no insole in them? i know they're gonna be a little crazy, one lhs i was at weighed them at 680g, and they're gonna retail for 849 cdn.

ATLstealth09 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 At $150, look for some clearance stuff, or auctions on eBay. I got my Synergy 1300's on eBay for $145, so anything can happen. Your best bet is probably finding some older models. Don't worry about weight too much; it makes a difference to an extent, but not enough to sacrifice, say, proper fit. For a budget skate, most are around the same weight, so go for fit.I'd suggest maybe CCM 652 on hockeyworld, since they are only $90 USD last time I checked. homerocks 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 The S15's will also make your legs lighter too after they ripped a few grams of skin off of your ankles! ;)
Mario123 2 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 Does anyone know the official weight of the Vapor XXXX's? The XXX's are 795 grams for a size 8.
Hockeydog 8 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 To a extent weight matters but at this point I think it is all marketing.I have a pair of One90's but they ended up killing my feet, went back to my Graf 704's ( from around 1998- with Tuuks) and I skate better because my feet are not crying in pain all night.
