hockeyplaya97 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 I'm watching the Blue's game and I noticed that Ryan Smyth is possibly using a new shaft? It says "Warrior" in red letters up by the handle on a black background. it's not one of the new dolomites or ak27's and I'm almost positive I saw a wood blade in it so I supposed it was a shaft. Any Ideas? I'll try to post up pics later.
mack 44 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 From the earlier pics it was just the "new" AK27 grip.

mack 44 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Ahhh, they made up a new Moo-lay shaft for him. Nice.
Lemieux 66 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 It also says "MOO LAY" on the shaft. For those who don't know, that's a reference to Smyth's hockey hair (mullet).EDIT: Yikes. People are fast here...
msander 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 no silver tip..It sure it tough to see Smyth in that Islanders jersey. I hope that he and the Oilers can make peace this summer and he goes back to Edmonton.

hockeyplaya97 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 well, how about that game? smyth fixed the net right as they scored and then the blues come back and score 3 goals in about 3 minutes. and i thought after we traded guerin and tkatchuk that we would never score again... RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Did you see the score sheet from that game...Bergeron, Smyth, Weight (2pts), Brewer, Woywitka (2pts). All former Oilers.btw...why wouldn't the ref blow that play dead with NY having the puck and St. Louis' net off the mooring?
odp 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Maybe next year's stick will have "Moola$$$" if he gets a huge contract.

MoCorleone 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 Those warrior shafts were made specifically for Ryan Smith to use for Mark Messier's number retirement night and were going to be sold for charity...unfortunately (not for me since i'm an islanders fan), he got traded earlier that day, so he never got to use them..they are still going to be auctioned off. cabreezy 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 yeah, it looks to be the ak27 in an islanders paint scheme. white base, dark navy background, orange accents and orange warrior logo, and for those who can't see the "moo-lay" here's a better picture, i think.http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/sp/get...10_37_04_pm.jpg
the iceman 132 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 He's a class act all the way, i think for $100k difference, the oilers were dumb not to pay it!Or Smyth's 'camp' was dumb not to accept the offer (if he wanted to stay in Edmonton so bad the how much of a difference will an extra $100,000 make if you are already making at least 5 mil.).yeah, it looks to be the ak27 in an islanders paint scheme. white base, dark navy background, orange accents and orange warrior logo, and for those who can't see the "moo-lay" here's a better picture, i think.http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/sp/get...10_37_04_pm.jpgAlso the Vintage Oilers colors. halfmoonyote 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2007 He's a class act all the way, i think for $100k difference, the oilers were dumb not to pay it!Well, Smyth doesn't have to use that 100k for acting lessons, that's for sure. His crying routine was not only nauseating, it was galling.Don't get it twisted, HE is the one that walked over 100k. warheart45 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2007 He made a minimum number, oilers never matched it. Why should he sign if they don't value him enough to go an extra 100k. IMO he will probably sign the contract with the oilers in the offseason for what he asked for if not alittle more. Oilers got very little for him except for the pick, both the prospects are nothing more than future 3rd/4th liners. Back on topic, the shaft looks awesome and both teams have pretty much the same colors.
