Hockeyworld have some kind of shot blockers, but they are not the same as the ones Pronger is wearing..

I know its off topic, but their color combo is so neat. Especially on gloves, like the TPS (Perry).

Since the are the Anaheim Ducks instead of the Mighty Ducks with this embarrasing logo, i likie them a lot.

thursday when the ducks skated at the rink where i work he only has the ones of the front of the foot. some how they dont look like they would help that much considering how much they flapped around.

You can probably pick up a pair from any sporting goods store that carries baseball equipment. I use some straps along with the bottom pieces from catchers shin guards.

Agreed...I always liked their team...just couldn't force myself to like a team that came from a Disney movie. I like them much better now...that they dropped Disney and the purple uniforms.

I still use my original Anaheim Mighty Ducks hockey bag...I needed a new one about 10 years ago, but it hasn't happened yet.

What kind of skates do you have? Doesn't the skate itself protect enough?

i really dig the colors, as retarded as that sounds. i used to hate on their uni's, but love the look they have going on now.

does anyone have a link to these shot blockers?

kickin up an old topic.

I've been blocking alot more shots as of late and would like some more protection. I always seem to take the worst ones off the high eyelets where there isn't much padding. I flop my togues out and i have tried to tuck them in but it doesn't feel any diffrent when i get hit there.

My question is, Who makes shot blockers and how light/ durable are they? I'm looking for something similar to pronger's but with more protection by the section near the pump.

Been using the Skate Fenders for close to six months now and keeping a loose review going in Long Term Reviews (http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php?/topic/53926-skate-fenders/)

Cost around $80 Can and they are worth every penny. Don't notice them and have taken several full on slappers off them and haven't felt a thing. The only issues I have is they have started to cause some wear on the boot of my skates and on my right foot,it causes the boot to dig in a touch that causes problems if I am skating for more than an hour with lots of backwards skating (defence). ANything less than that and no rubbing. I would definitely be hobbling around from those slapshots if not for these. Cheap and effective.

There are also these ones (fake laces are optional): After Hours Composite Works

But if it's the upper eyelets that concern you, maybe you can tuck in the skate tongue under slightly longer (and a bit wider at the bottom) shinpads?

Wow! It'll take someone more technical-minded than me to explain the need for custom fit for this type of product.

And I'm wondering if the same guy who thought that up came up with the pricing structure and the "stealth" laces.

I have wondered why someone would want them fitting closely to the boot. With the fenders what seems to work is the gap between the fender and the boot that absorbs the impact instead of transferring it directly to the boot.

The clear Lexan fenders work great. I got them to help protect my ankle after ending up with a plate/4 screws in there just over a year ago. They do the job pretty well.

I was just going to ask how these would work for someone recovering with an ankle injury. I broke my ankle last weekend. When I come back I want it to have a little more protection, but wasn't sure if these cover the ankle.

Mine come up to just above that protruding bone on the ankle which is where I got hurt. Any higher and they would get in the way. As I mentioned I get some pressure on the outside of my ankle from the top of my boot on my right skate being pushed by the fender. I have just taped a small piece of thin foam around my ankle and I don't have this problem which I think is specific to me because it is only the one skate. Either way I have the puck marks on my foot to show for the shots that would have dropped me like a bag of hammers had I not been wearing these.
