VECHKIN08 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2007 I know there is some weird shit happening in the back woods of alabama, but to have things like that stomping around? wtf That is what I was thinking! Seriously if there is something this goddamn big lurking around anywhere, let alone in Alabama, that is pretty creepy. Hopefully people will be on the lookout now for weird things to shoot. I'd love to see someone take down big-foot...
mack 44 Report post Posted June 2, 2007 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070602/ap_on_...yogsbO0QstH2ocAFRUITHURST, Ala. - The huge hog that became known as "Monster Pig" after being hunted and killed by an 11-year-old boy had another name: Fred. The not-so-wild pig had been raised on an Alabama farm and was sold to the Lost Creek Plantation just four days before it was shot there in a 150-acre fenced area, the animal's former owner said.Phil Blissitt told The Anniston Star in a story Friday that he bought the 6-week-old pig in December 2004 as a Christmas gift for his wife, Rhonda, and that they sold it after deciding to get rid of all the pigs at their farm."I just wanted the truth to be told. That wasn't a wild pig," Rhonda Blissitt said.

hockeysew 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 It is in fact a true story-Hog weighed in at 1074 # and measured 9' 4' from tip of nose to base of tail. The kid shot it 6 times with a Smith and Wesson .500 revolver that was scoped. He must not be a very good shot though as the guide for the hunt finally had to drop it with a .338 Lapua Magnum Rifle.A buddy from work sent me a bunch of pics on it and they had to use a front end loader to load it in the truck to take to the scales. They estimated they would get 700-800# of sausage from the beast.Judging from the pics and the way the front end of the loader was dipping I dont think it was faked or photo-shopped. D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 Besides the insanely amount of sausage they are getting from this hog, I don't really see why the hell you would want to shoot it. Leave the damn thing alone. Jesus.
nni 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 it is also a true story that it wasn't a wild animal, it was domesticated. a farmer recently sold it, and these people shot it.
Monty22 833 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 I never really got the attraction to these game farms. Doesn’t seem all that sporting to be "hunting" domesticated livestock. If you’re going to do it, do it right.

I wonder what they paid to shoot the hog? That is a LOT of pork.
