One90 Shaft

Recommended Posts

I can't find much info on the One90 shaft. I do know it's standard and not tapered. Does it have any grip coating on it - I think it has something? I was thinking about picking up another Ultralite or try out a z-bubble, but noticed that the One90 is in the same price-range.

Any opinions on this shaft, compared to the above-mentioned ones, or the AK27 or Redlite?

yes it does, its not a tacky grip, its textured. called taxtile i believe. its like a raised checkerboard. there is soon to be the one90 stickum which will have the tacky feeling grip available around the holidays i believe

thanks guys - it's really difficult finding out about certain products here in Houston, as there basically is only a couple of pro-shops (in 2 'local' rinks). These shops have about 10 Stealth CNT's each, a few ST's, maybe 5 or so ultra-lite/z-bubble shafts, a few RBK's and that's it. Maybe add on a bunch of Fury's and that's the limit of the stick collection in the stores! Just a little different than some of you 'northern' folks :( I've never seen or felt a One90 OPS or shaft. I've seen but not touched an AK27, Dolomite and XXX lite. It's killing me!

I currently candy-cane my shafts and would like grip to get away from this (not that it's a big deal). I saw the price of the One90 shaft and was surprised that I could get the shaft of the top-of-the-line Bauer OPS for less than the Easton products (or Warrier or TPS).

Oh, and durability is good, but if they last too long, then I won't have an excuse to buy more sticks/shafts ;)

The Stick'um has the Tactile grip and the stick'um grip. I felt one tonight, we just got a big shipment in of them.

I could be wrong in saying this, but i think the shaft is slightly tapered, so it isn't exactly like a standard shaft. Although not quite as tapered as the one-piece version, it does have a slight taper in it so that the flex apparrently becomes a lo-to-mid flex. Not as low as most one pieces, but lower than most regular shafts.

As i said i may be wrong but i'm pretty sure this is the case form the research i've done looking into this stick. In Australia you don't get the same luxury of seeing and feeling some equipment before buying it from overseas so this board is so important in making decisions. If someone who knows for sure or actually has used one I would love for this to be confirmed. Also any info regarding the shaft at all.

It seems to be cheaper than other high end shafts, but does it perform to the level of all high-end sticks? After all it's supposed to be NBH alternate flagship stick.

Saw some One90 Stick'um OPS at the LHS. Feel is really good. Too bad they aren't making the Stick'um version of the shaft yet.

It is a standard shaft. I've put standard blades in three different One90 shafts. I personally haven't shot with it but a number of players that I work with have used it and really like it. They've used it with the Bauer One40 wood blade.

if you're candy cane-ing the stick the texture on the one90 might keep you from doing it BUT it's not going to feel the same. Personally, I like the textured grips as opposed to "sticky" grips because it allows for more freedom of movement and more control by adjusting grip tightness, in my opinion. If you have the money, I think you might as well try it.

At worse maybe you can trade or sell it locally, if you're having trouble getting your hands on these things then other people in your area probably have the same problem.

Not trying to high-jack the thread, but feel this question is related:

How is the Grip on the 7K Sickick (specifically the Taper Shaft)?

I love the One90 shaft and the Tactile grip, but I'm also in the market for a new tapershaft (have a bucketload of taper blades laying around)

XXXlite shaft has Stick'um so that's out of the question for me.

The 7k Sickick has both snake grip and some other grip coating on it.

Does it feel more like Tactile grip than Stick'um (for comparison), i.e is the 7k a grippy shaft or not?

it's kind of like a thinner version of the ccm grip put over the textured snake grip. You can feel the little ripples but not as much as you could with just the snake grip. I'm not sure if you can feel the ripples with gloves on though.

So it's a super light grip, even lighter than the grip on the CCM V10.0 Ops (not catapault but last years model).

Cool, sounds like it's the closest I'll come to the One90 grip in a taper shaft.

it's closer to the grip on the 10.0 than not, if that makes sense. It's only a hair thinner of a grip coating, not sure how well the grip holds up.

Can anyone else comment on the durability and performance of this shaft? Especially compared to the Easton Ultra Light in the same price range.

What's the weight on one of these?
