OhMyGodImOnFire 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 Washing machine with extra fabric softener and detergent. You can actually stick it in there, and no harm done? What other stuff can you do that with?Is it front loader only? Because, I have a sleeping bag that is front loader only, no agitator. But, because I HAVE an agitator, I have to handwash it

Ngo_35 1 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 If its leather then washing machine will be fine. I tried at 10min on the lowest setting. Sprinkle with detergent and garnish with a bit of fabric softener for best results. Remember you do not want an aggressive spin cycle either.

sds 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 Take them and have them ozoned.I bought my own ozone machine and ozoned the crap out of my gloves. After the smell of the ozone finally went away, the results were marginal at best. I was pretty disappointed how they turned out.

After the smell of the ozone finally went away, the results were marginal at best. I was pretty disappointed how they turned out. Ozone "smell" goes away in about a minute, it does not stay in the gloves. But it sounds like your ozone machine was not strong enough. Commercial ozonizers are very powerful. But keep in mind, once sweat smell is "burnt" into something, absolutely nothing will remove it, there will always be a sweat smell to it. You can cover up the smell with detergents and fragrances, but it's always there. I think a product like Hockey Hands is perfect for gloves, it's a strong bacteriacide and a powerfull pepermint fragrance. Hard to smell the sweat thru this stuff. Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 Direct steam, then scrub the palms with shaving gel with lanolin... Barbasol or Skintimate brands. I used it de-funk two pairs of mitts, and both came out smell great, stink-free, and supple as a baby's cheeks.edit: In other words, what SRI said.
