TBLfan 25 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 the sticks still don't look right. Might be because the stick is as wide as the players calves.
JR Boucicaut 3801 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 What's going to happen is that the marquee players will all be correct. Not every player will be correct (is it like that in the EA game? However, you can edit any player in the game and match them up to what they are wearing if you want to.I'm trying to get everything squared away. Don't worry, there'll be an announcement soon.
OhMyGodImOnFire 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 What's going to happen is that the marquee players will all be correct. Not every player will be correct (is it like that in the EA game?I think I had Bryzgalov (on NHL '07) and it kept saying "Save by Ward"

Not every player will be correct (is it like that in the EA game?so this means we'll see Naslund's One60 stick & One90 gloves and Spezza's SOP stick & Sherwood gloves etc;?If it does, good on 2K for consulting MSH but their models and detail need work. Cavs019 708 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 MSH or not, the player models look like they are ripped out of Faceoff 99.
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 To be honest, I loved the Faceoff series. Back when it was either EA NHL XX or NHL Faceoff XX I always chose the Faceoff series. I don't know what it was but if they could add gameplay of say NHL '08 with the feel of the Faceoff series I would buy it in a quick second over both EA and 2K. davis 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 I always liked the gameplay of the 2Kx series, but EA's graphics and physics were consistently better. I think it's gonna be like that again this year. That first screenshot on the IGN site for 2K8 looked pretty amazing, the rest were pretty mediocre.
sabre09923 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 Screenshots usually don't do a game justice, but 2K's graphics have always been lackluster.
hockeyherb 1 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 And screenshots are always from angles that you can never really play the game with. You'll never play from some down low, close to the face angle so it's really a moot point who's facial graphics are superior.

It drove me nuts in NHL 07.
mack 44 Report post Posted June 23, 2007 I put more weight on the graphics and gameplay between the whistles, but that's just me. I never really focus on the post-whistle junk they show.
precursor 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2007 I have been a big fan of the 2k series over the past 3 years or so. I am looking forward to this one much more than EA's POS.

It drove me nuts in NHL 07.Nope. Unless I want to watch a replay for some reason I immediately queue up the face off and get going. And if I do watch a replay, then they have the right faces anyway. That brings up a good idea though - when will NHL games have customizable celebrations after you score like in football games? If I couldn't stand a guy I was playing with online I'd pull the Tiger Williams celebration after every goal.

If I couldn't stand a guy I was playing with online I'd pull the Tiger Williams celebration after every goal.NHL 2003 had customizable celebrations. You attached them to a button and after you scored you could press any button. You unlocked more by buying the nhl cards with credits you get for doing stuff.
