Vapor 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Totonnos is great, but I really do not get what the big deal is with Johns. The best Pie in the city is at the ORIGINAL Patsys on 118 and 1 ave. They still use the same coal oven as they did years ago. This is different from the patsys chains around the city, those are franchises.

Ray's is good too

I'm geussing they have lots of NYY hats. Unfortunately I didnt get to go. A few buddies of mine went, and said it was pretty sweet. Both of them came back with other teams as well. One got a sweet cooperstown collection of the Calif. Angels. Had the lowercase "a" <that looked like that, with the halo cocked over top of it. Sounds like they were more expensive than the ones youd find at Lids, tho. But stuff you would never find at Lids.

Also I've been a die hard Yankees fan for ever and since they are not in town , do you guys know if they offer tours of Yankee stadium?

Thockey17 1 Report post Posted June 28, 2007 What do you mean , it's not a nice stadium or the area around it is not nice ?The stadium is nothing special really. If your going there just to catch the game and hop on the train back to your hotel, its fine. The surrounding area isnt exactly a place to go wandering around in, though.GaGa is right, theres nothing really of interest around there. Except for maybe the '64/'65 Worlds Fair grounds and maybe the Flushing Meadows zoo? Also I've been a die hard Yankees fan for ever and since they are not in town , do you guys know if they offer tours of Yankee stadium?Yes, they offer tours.See Here
tbintexas 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2007 Yankee Stadium tours are awesome! You get to go to Monument Park (I know you can before games as well, but there's a lot less people during the tour), walk around the center field warning track, sit in the dugout and go up to the pressbox. That was almost as good as seeing the game that night! Now that I think about it, it might even be better!I'd recommend going if you get a chance before they get into the new statium... It just won't be the same.

It just won't be the same. The MSG tour is also well worth it. They walk you to a suite, then they bring you down to one of the lower level seats. You then go through the player tunnel and they take you to the Rangers and Knicks locker rooms, then around and out. It was neat.
