TCsnipes9 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Reminds me of some Lacrosse trick vids. Eric Westrum taught me that one where you roll the ball down the blade, then shaft, then pop it with your hand back to your blade when i was like 11. Fun little trick! :( Not a day goes by that I dont think about how close I was to getting to play in that tournament.... Ugh off to bed i guess..

hocckey77 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Oh man how bad I want to play Minnesota high school hockey!!!Yeah. It looks soooo much better than Illinois high school hockey. One day when I have time, I'll go watch their state tourny.
Slapshot9123 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 hocckey77 i know what you mean. I was going to play HS for IL but i decided to stay with my club team in the fall and play HS in the spring, and that is one of the biggest joke leauges ever. Ive gone to 7 out of the 12 games and im 2nd in points in the leauge.

Langenbrunner15 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Damn, those tournys look sick. I have a few questions. Is HS hockey in MN higher level than a club team there so the priority is HS rather than your club team like it is here in NJ? Are the HS's made up of just Seniors and Juniors or is it mixed? My HS is full of freshman and sophmores as we only had 2 seniors and 1 junior this past year and I know of many other HS's that have a majority of underclassmen. Is that torunament that ever HS looks forward to and the whole school is crazy over?
sabre09923 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 I don't know how it is in MN but here in Mass. it's like that, Langs. Many of the club teams, once you hit highschool, play half a season so the kids can play HS the rest of the year.
Langenbrunner15 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Yeah, thats how it is for NJ club teams. But I play for a club team in NY and we don't stop for HS but we do get our league games in before HS starts. I don't think i'd like stoping for HS though, I love havin' to play 8-9 times a week for HS and travel but I guess a rest would be nice sometimes. May I ask where in Mass are you, have osme family who lives up there.
Jarick 5 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Wow that goal at 1:25 of the first video has to be one of the sickest goals of any league I've seen. The few games I watched this year weren't that exciting. Hopefully next year is different.

It's in North Central MA, about 45 min drive to just about everywhere that matters (Worcester, Boston, Nashua).
Langenbrunner15 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 North Central Mass...that wouldn't happen to be near Natick, Mass. would it? Played in the David Hoffman peewee tournament there like 3 years ago.
sabre09923 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Na, not really. Natick is pretty far away; about an hour. Like I said, I'm about 45+ minutes away from everywhere that matters.

A lot of top kids play in fall elite leagues as well.
TCsnipes9 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 I dont get how one would beat Holy Angels and then lose to EaganI'm not sure, but a lot of these MN kids do split time between their HS teams and the USHL..I believe back in 04 or 05 there was an 8th grade phenom for St Thomas Academy by the name of Jordan Schroeder that played varsity. A lot of top kids play in fall elite leagues as well. For those interested in NTDP, Jordan is now on the U-18 team there. He left after his freshman, or sophomore year. Hes not very big, but the kid is amazing. As for the Eagan/AHA thing....(PLEASE do NOT think I am making any excuses, I am just trying to give the best explanation i can)The week of the game, we practiced at BIG rink 3, to practice on the big sheet to get used to Marriuci. I AM NOT MAKING EXCUSES HERE, but we had between 10-14 guys on any given day at practice, which included some who were there, but still under the weather. Thats out of 18-20. Basically the flu-bug hit our team like you couldn't believe, and we were left to wait it out to see how everyone was come game night. Obviously everyone was there, but we werent 100%.Eagan plays on a large ice surface all year at home, which Im sure helped them out some too.People didnt know weather we would have a "hangover" from the win vs AHA, or if it would potentially excell us toward the title. Long story short, Eagan came out big, and beat us at our own game. Both of their goals were scrums in front of the net, where we didnt give up much all year. COULD the outcome have been different if we were all feeling better, maybe. Hopefuly. But thats life, and thats how it shook out. The hockey gods were not smiling down on me, or my teammates that night. :(
epstud74 24 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Sounds like a hangover to me haha No one is good enough to overlook other teams at that point in the tournament. Did AHA beat Shattuck this year or was it last year?

TCsnipes9 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 TC, you talking about Bloomington Rink 3? That rink HURTS.I thought it was this year that AHA won.Yeah Jarick BIG 3 is a HUGE surface. And since we went at about 2, no one had been on it all day, so it was freezing. Its like playing on the pond.
