P88 or P106 blade

Recommended Posts

I am stuck on deciding which of these I want to buy!!

I currently am usuing a Sakic ST on a z-bubble but I am about to purchase a One90 and cannot decide which blade would be better choice.

I like the Sakic, but it does wear at the heel...

So what should it be... P88 or P106???

P88, it is alot more similar to the Sakic than the P106. (I've used all 3)

Has more curve and is more of a mid curve.

ya true but the p88 has a shorter blade than the sakic but since im a heel curve fan i would go with the p106

It doesn't matter what the curve or blade length is like, if his Sakic is wearing at the heel then the only option out of the 2 is the P106 seeing as it's a 5 lie as opposed to a 5.5 or 6.

P88 - less loft and shorter blade than the Sakic, otherwise similar

P106 - mid heel curve with less loft and longer blade, lower lie

Or you could go with some custom blades.

Go with a P92, and cut the stick a little bit shorter than your current Z-bubble. P92 is NBH's Sakic clone, and the shortened stick will make it wear evenly on the blade.

That doesn't work for me. I have a comfort zone with how I handle the puck and where my hands are and shortening the stick more than half an inch drives me nuts. Rather than force yourself to adapt to a curve, find a curve that fits you. There are a lot of options out there, usually you can find one that works for you.

As to the original question, I would go with the P106.

I will only use a P88. Great for a D man who likes to clear the puck high off the glass when necessary.

Funnily enough, I do the same thing and use a PM9... With zero loft. I guess I am a natural high shooter.

I have a 106, absolutely love it, improved my stick handling instantly!!, realy nice blade to work with, I have it on a 1 piece xxx pro lite, and yes its mostly due to the flex on the stick but I get a great slapshot off it, nice height, lot of power

I'm the same. A half inch + or - completely messes me up.

Many people have mentioned that the P106 has a lie of 5. And everything on-line shows the same. But I was at a local store today and they had One90 OPS and the P106s all had a lie of 6.

Well I just put my P106 against a bunch of other sticks, it looks between a 5 and 5.5, maybe closer to the 5.5 lie. But it's a wood blade so maybe it's off...fun curve though. If it were an inch shorter I think it'd be a lot more popular, like a shallower Lidstrom with a lower lie and round toe.
