Pure hockey warehouse sale

Recommended Posts

No, facebook site said all stores and 5th through 8th and I went to the norwalk location and called headquarters

Cool. Appreciate the clarification. I knew that didn't sound right to start on a Wednesday.

Hi folks. Jeff from Pure Hockey here. I run Marketing and Web for the company - and I'll do my best to respond to any Pure Hockey related posts that come across ModSquad. The Tent Sale this year will be at ALL store locations from August 5-8th.

Now - back to the 2010 Tent Sale. This is the first year we've done it at all of our store locations, so we're pretty excited to see how it will turn out. We expect it will alleviate some of the long lines you may have experienced in the past. I know about them first-hand - I started working here early this year, but before that was a customer and hockey player, just like you. I would imagine the lines will be a little easier to deal with this time around.

We're also giving away some pretty good raffle prizes - A trip to this years Super Bowl, NHL Season Tickets, IPods, XBoxes, etc. Trying to show lots of love here.

Best-

Jeff

Fair enough - I won't solicit or put store links, my apology. Don't want to be viewed as obnoxious, just want to be as informative and as helpful as I can.

Jeff

That's a bit better. Jeff - I don't have a problem with you responding to questions, but soliciting is prohibited.

Thanks -

Every year this thing gets more and more disappointing. Just stupid people all standing around doing nothing but talking/using their cell phones and getting in the way of people that actually want to look at the stuff.

Even the Supreme sticks were still full price although strangely they had orange price tags that said "sale" and a higher price ($239?) just a few inches away from the regular price tags that were less expensive. It was a total WTF. A year or two ago they were dumping One90 chromes for like $100 but I didn't even see any good deals to my knowledge.

I'm not even sure what the exceptions were to the 20% off everything sale for the weekend (rangers1234, if I was a betting man I'd say the X60 gloves were included in the 20% off sale but it's just a guess).

Walked out literally with nothing.

100% Agree went after work yesterday and could not find anything worth buying, a dud of a sale unless you were a JR player. Also, they 2 items I did buy only because I had gift cards were yellow superfeet and a roll of tape and they didnt even give me 20% off, terrible

Got out of the house for the first time after my surgery. First place I went was ph in danvers. The sale was awful. They had a ton of good prostock twigs last year, but hardly any this year. I spoke to a guy working there and he said the 20% off applied to the T.O's. He said the restrictions were on things like skate sharpening. Not sure if I believe that though. I did walk out with a nice se16 tapered blade.

I think you and I went to the same place. I felt the same way.

I agree. Major dissapointment. I was hoping for some outragously good deals or at least the free tshirts they always give out. None of which i found. I walked out with not a single thing.

I would imagine they got rid of some merchandise this weekend but not like they usually do. In which case they still have a good amount of stock sitting there will mark stuff down gradually to get rid of old stock and make room for new stock. I'll check back there every few weeks to see what happens... at some point they're going to lower prices on the older models there just won't be a huge sale that everyone flocks there for like this week. Maybe they'd be wise to get that ready for next weekend's tax free weekend here in Mass but that's in a few days and I would doubt we see that happen.

Still have my eyes on a One95 stick that's sitting there ...

I think you guys are confusing the desperate tent sales of the previous Pure Hockey owner, who had to have this outrageous sale to raise cash to pay all the vendors he owed money to. The new owners are a smarter bunch and run their LHS's more like a normal business. Not buying every make, every model, every color, etc. Therefor not having so much inventory left at end of model year. The days of the old great deal tent sales are likely over.

Did the current owner own ph last year around the time of the sale?

I don't get too upset getting 20% off everything in the store. Picked up a couple X60s in a P10 pattern at 20% off. I'm not complaining.

You do raise a good point. I had even commented to my buddy that we'll never see that again. But then again, that's part of what makes it disappointing for someone like me that was around a few years ago when they had the outrageous sales. I guess I assumed that they still had massive inventory to get rid of which might not be that good of a assumption with a better business model under the new ownership.

Heck, I'd just be pumped if they worked a deal with INNO again to bring back those Maniacs and Marleys at $70 a pop. Talk about awesome.

Did I just see that Pure hockey bought Philbricks?

There was INNO's at the Danvers location. Same ones as the monkey has. Also ph did buy philbricks. They already changed it over.
