Jersey's w/ Edge cut

Recommended Posts

I didn't want to start another EDGE thread...

I saw this on ebay...

*pic

...the seller said it is the jersey that retails for $150.00 (replica). Has anyone else seen a rep jersey with a fight strap?

what exactly is a "fight strap"?

it hooks the jersey into the back of your pants (the loop on them) so your jersey cannot be pulled over your head.

my organization is getting jerseys from sp that has the same theory behind it. If that counts as coming down to juniors or youth.

Older topic, most teams seem to have gone back to the air knit material with the newer cut.

From a looks perspective, I like the newer cut, although on some players it's a bit tight. Then again, I have to buy fitted shirts because of my wide shoulders, so I like that kind of thing.

That looks real to me.

I know...but I've never seen a replica jersey with a fight strap....Buyer Beware...I'm just checking.

I must not understand correctly. If you are buying this jersey as a Replica and it does indeed have a fight strap (making it a real edge jersey?). Wouldn't that be a bonus? The only thing I can see being wrong is if this is just a blank Habs jersey that they sewed Kovalev 27 on it selling it as the real deal.

I have a game worn AHL jersey from the first half of this year. The jerseys do snag and rip more easily than the air knit material and generally don't last as long as the old style air-knits. Close to midway through the season (before the All Star break for most teams), RBK changed over the design slightly to use more air-knit material in the panels in the front and back of the body. It was due to the common complaint of the jerseys not "breathing" and letting the sweat and perspiration evaporate due to RBK's moisture wicking fabric. I believe they may have also loosened up the cut slightly (around the elbows but I'm not 100% sure on that). I personally like the cut of the new jerseys, although I have not played a game in mine and won't. I do play roller hockey with a guy who has a replica that he plays in and loves it, although he doesn't wear shoulder pads or big elbow pads.

I haven't decided for sure that I'm buying...yet. But, I'm just wondering if anyone has seen a Rep with a FS....maybe this guy added the strap after, and although the pic looks okay...it's a hack job when it arrives. He did send a close up of the lettering and it looks good.

Is it EDGE?

Because if it is, I believe it's an authentic - no RBK logo on sleeve.

RBK never made pre-EDGE replicas - they were all labeled CCM.

Looks like it...there is a front view as well and it has the NHL logo on the collar.

No, it means some jackass is sewing fight straps into replica jerseys and trying to fool unsuspecting buyers. There have also been a ton of Chinese knockoffs on ebay lately as well.

I have a Rangers edge replica, that habs jersey looks like it's the real deal. If he's saying it's real, and it's not, you can always file with paypal and return it on a false claim.

If he said it's a replica and it's real, don't complain and just consider yourself lucky.

I'm not sure - the picture has been cropped and can't see if there's the jock tag which is on the Premier jerseys. My guess is it's a knockoff authentic.

Yeah, you're probabloy right. I think I'll stay away. Here is the link to his store if anyone else feels like taking a chacne on it.

You can't see the tag on the front of the Pens ones either.

I thought some teams already did their own alterations to the jersey? If you look at pictures of when they were first introduced they were very tight and slim. Now players are back to looking like balloons, rolling their sleeves past their elbow guards. I wish the Swift was used instead, they are much more sturdy. Poly material will no doubt become more prevalent in jersey/sock manufacturing in the future.

The Kovalev Jersey looks legit to me and so does the Crosby.

You can make out a Made in Canada Tag in the Neck area.

Perhaps they can be factory seconds as the Numbers look creased to me.

Part of me still says....$79.99...maybe I should take my chances.

Wasn't it the 'Swift' material that was constantly tearing (and causing the perspiration build-up in the pads) which is what caused the return of the 'old' jersey material?

Swift and EDGE are 2 different technologies. Nike Swift was/is used in IIHF events, NHL uses RBK EDGE. The NHL has replaced some of the panels in their jerseys with more traditional material to prevent the tearing/"sweating" problems

I just didn't like the blocky cut and designs of the Swift jerseys. Seemed the material was fine though.
