PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Philadelphia is home to the least attractive people in the United States, a survey of visitors and residents showed on Friday.

The city of more than 1.5 million people was also found to be among the least stylish, least active, least friendly and least worldly, according to the "America's Favorite Cities" survey by Travel & Leisure magazine and CNN Headline News.

I'm guessing they shouldn't use those statistics in their tourism marketing.

oh man it would be great for marketing...

come to Philly where even the ugly look good

Philly...you won't look any better

The city of brotherly love...cause the women look like men

LOL, those are great. Wow, after I bombed my Psych Exam this morning that made me laugh.

Not to try and go off topic, but can anyone from the Philadelphia or Pennsylvania area tell me how far Philly or Pittsburgh is from Feasterville, PA?

The reason I'm asking is I'm pretty sure the roller hockey team I play on is going to a Tohrs tourney in January and me and a couple guys were going to see if we could score some tickets to a Flyers or Penguins game but we need to know an approximate distance. We're already making a long ass drive from Indiana.

To not clog up the post, you can just PM me.

(Sorry Again)

Ahh, nothing like living right outside the crappiest city. I agree that Philly is a craphole for the most part. There are some nice parts downtown, but for the most part it is a hole. However I have never really realized a shortage on good looking girls, so I don't know what to think of that.

Also, Feasterville is about 30-40 from Philly, its not a bad ride at all. I'm guessing you are playing at Sportsplex, it's a nice facility.

the philly smell seems more organic than the industrial smells out of south jersey.

That's the smell of the Amish farms in Lancaster moving east and meeting the smell of the chicken farms coming up the Delmarva peninsula. Combine that with South Jersey and you get a perfect storm of rot.

That's definitely South Jersey.

I stayed in an area right in the heart of the city called Rittenhouse Square this weekend after the Flyers game, and I have to tell you, I didn't see one ugly woman there. It was a very beautiful part of town, and the women were very nice.

It was a very nice, upscale section of Philadelphia. I'm guessing it's the shopping/business district.

Anyway, my point is that it's tough to make a blanket statement on an entire region. Philadelphia has some beautiful places. Now, the area in South Philly, down around the sports complex - YIKES! Talk about scary stuff! WOW.

The area along the river is pretty nice, and the Down town area has some nice areas if I remember right. But if you get over on the one side of the city, in the general area of where the Temple campus is - Urban war zone......

I used to play at the Sportsplex. Decent facility.

Flyers games are great. Just don't cheer for the opposition, unless you'd like a beatdown in the parking lot.

Pittsburgh is much further from Feasterville, 5+ hours...

That survey is crap. New York was ranked second to Chicago in terms of pizza. STOPPPP, if I wanted lasagna, I woulda ordered it. This completely invalidates the entire survey

The only draws Philly ever had for me were the city's role in the birth/history of this nation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art - or, more accurately, the steps outside said museum.

...there was a big rally/AIDS Quilt outside the museum while I was in Philly. I ran the steps, then got the fuck out of there.

Last two games I were at: Two Rangers fans getting pushed around in the parking lot. Calgary game a few people ended up with sodas on their head.

People wearing Rangers and Leafs jerseys either get beat up or pissed on. At least that's what I saw when I had season tickets.

I'm guessing you're joking Chadd. No one cares about the Blackhawks, except that we got Kukkonen from them.

This was a few years ago, but I've never had major problems at a Flyers game. Maybe I sat in the right area but I never saw any of the stuff you guys mention. The Eagles game was a completely different story and only slightly surpasses the treatment I've seen in Pittsburgh.

My seats were close to the ice and I saw this stuff happen. I was even on TV for being around a fight in the stands. Just make sure if you're wearing a rival teams jersey that you don't go to the bathroom. And this is in the lower sections. All the drunks are in the upper levels.

I always feel bad when they show people on TV at an Eagles game wearing the other teams jersey, knowing that something not pleasant might happen to them.
