Grip Print for gear NOT STICKS

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found an alternative to grip print that works without trashing your stuff? Maybe a spray on type of product or something?

Grip Print for your gear not your stick. Like what Under Armor and Nike use on the sleaves and shoulders of thier stuff. Also what NBH is using on Pants and others.

My bad.

So what exactly is it you want? Something to spray inside your gear to grip onto your undershirt? Wouldn't that not allow the gear to absorb water and not let your skin get rid of sweat?

Dude like I said something that comes in an after market form that Nike and Under Armour use to put on my gear.

If anybody had half a clue as to what you were talking about in the first place, you wouldn't get post that didn't answer the question that we didn't understand.

Something that goes on your gear?

I have never heard of a "a spray on type of product" from Nike or Under Armor.

If you are having issues with your gear shifting, you need to get gear that fits or tighten up that velcro.

Nike, Under Armour use some sort of textured stick'um spray or print that they place on specific part of tops, pants and sorts that help to keep your gear in place or at least assist in keeping your gear more in place. Some companies now are even applying it to the inside of Pants and shin guards. Below is a link to a top NBH top that has it on the sleaves. You'll see get what I mean when you see the link.

Not exactly a new technology. They're just screening/hot pressing "rubber" fabric patches on.

There is no spray, not by any means.

My backpack has some "grip zone" on it to keep it from sliding around. All it does is cause your jacket/shirt to move with it.

So are you interested in specifically securing a certain piece of gear, or looking for another application? Perhaps we could point you to a similar product for your certain application.

This is why you need to explain things. Asking "is there any grip spray for gear" gets you a page of "WTF do you mean?"

i went to the nike store in washington and they had what football players wear around biceps/forearms, its like a livestrong band, but more of a cotton... and i just put that above where my elbow pad should be and it just sticks there perfect...

I tried putting some glue (same stuff I use on my replacement blades) on the inside of a pair of elbow pads and let it dry. About 80% of it is still there after about a half dozen games. Never really noticed much of a difference and eventually got enough grip-print shirts to cover my ice times. (can't argue with $9.50 Giant specials) Probably better than nothing, but not much unless you apply it quite liberally.

If you are looking for a spray, this is the best I could come up with.

I would just find a shirt like the one you linked that has grip in the trouble places with your gear.

BK,

Thanks for the info. I think that this is what I'm looking for. I know that it is not the EXACT thing but close enough. I'll let ya know how this goes. I normally would get some new shirts but why spend the money if I dont have to and can make it customize it the way I want to. I have always been into customizing my gear to make it either fit or function the way I want it to. I'll post some pictures of what I did with my helmet to give you an idea.

Thanks again for the link.

No problem. I have actually seen this stuff before (being in Utah, you meet a lot of old people who quilt lol). I have put a lot of thought into putting on the inside fabric of my elbow pads so I can loosen up the velcro a little bit. I will have to give it a shot too.

BK,

I contacted the company that you sent me the link to and they sent me a reply saying that it would work great for that. So I think that I might even try it on a the bottom of a pair of my Oxysoxs to see how well that will work. But for sure on my shoulder and elbow pads.

Thanks again for the find and link. This is one major reason I love this site. People always looking to help others.

So yesterday I went and to buy this and was told to get a can of Rubber grip clear spray by the same company instead. I hit My Oxysoxs with one coat of it and needless to say it worked like a charm. Before applieing the spray I put a peice of cardboard in the sock so it would not seep threw the entire sock and make it stick together.I was told that the Rubber grip would work better due to water and sweat. So Yes it does work. I'm now curious to see how it will hold up in the wash. But I can say that after using this on my socks succesfully I will apply it to my shoulder and elbow pads.
