NHL Stick Brands in the NHL

Recommended Posts

Alright guys so i geeked it out on getty images and looked up 360 players to see what kind of sticks they use. I took the top 12 forwards on each team times 30 teams. I looked at ice time and games played and took into account injury and history to determine my best guess at each teams top 12 guys. Now before the critics start i realize that these guys switch sticks all the time and sometimes they are using different brands just painted over. But anyways here it is

Easton 134

Nike Bauer 65

RBK/CCM/Koho 59

Warrior 47

TPS 29

Mission 10

Sherwood 9

Trilage 2

Salming 2

Evolution 2

Fury 1

That's a pretty interesting statistic, and I'm sure we all appreciate it, seeing as how much work you put into it...but, if I may.

What do you do all day?

Is the one Ballistik Radek Bonk? I know he used one last year and Begin was using one for a while last year too. Also, who other than Tucker uses a Trilage?

Craig Conroy and Mikael Samuelsson use Salming

George Parros and Darcy Tucker use Trilage

Bonk was the only guy using a Ballistik but recently switched to Warrior

I think trevor Daley (Dallas) uses Trilage as well...or he did at one point. Steve Begin was using Ballistik earlier this year/late last year...but appears to have switched to CCM.

Easton sent the following numbers to their retailers at the end of October. Enjoy...

Easton = 272 OPS / 9 shafts

NBH = 93 OPS / 4 shafts / 4 wood

CCM/RbK = 82 OPS / 5 shafts / 5 wood

Warrior = 71 OPS / 5 shafts

TPS = 45 OPS

Mission = 18 OPS / 3 shafts

Sher-Wood = 10 OPS / 2 shafts / 3 wood

Montreal = 3 OPS

Trilage = 3 OPS

CompPro/GRAF = 2 OPS

Ballistik = 1 OPS

Fury = 1 OPS

Salming = 1 OPS

TOTALS = 602 OPS / 28 shafts / 12 wood (642 total players)

Why in the report is CompPro and Graf listed as one and the same?

Daley has been using Easton.

Seems to me from watching hockey that more guys were using warrior last season. Maybe they're getting away from it?

I belive Dean McAmmond uses Ballistik, ive seen him use the stick in all the Sens games i watched, unless he switched before his injury.

Dean McAmmond has gone back to Stealth, but I don't know who uses Ballistik, nobody on the Sens though

I don't think Warrior pays anyone to use their sticks; I think the big reason was they were quicker about getting customs to players so that turned a lot of people onto them. Players sure as shit aren't using them because of their witty ad campaigns.
