What a sucky feeling at the end of a PK

Recommended Posts

Last night I took a really dumb tripping penalty, against a team that is probably the class of the division.

Our team played an excellent kill, then I was up at the door, getting ready to get back on the ice, and they score. With 2 god damned seconds left on the PP.

That was the longest skate back across the ice I've had yet. Two seconds

Sorry, needed to vent, since it was a bad penalty and cost us a goal

Ever happen with only a few seconds left in the game? Yeah...I've sat there and the other team scores on the PP with only a few seconds left in the game to tie or to win it. Not the greatest feeling...especially on a sketchy call.

How 'bout a slapshot from the other team deflect off your stick and into your net. Worst feeling ever beings it was the game winner for them. That's what I get for not playing the point and crowding the net...

So, you experienced the "Skate of Shame" (Paul Coffey?). Motivation for the next shift!

I like to say I am so good, I can't help but score whenever I touch the puck ;) . I kicked one into our own net earlier this year, was the game winner too.

I deflected a centering pass into our net this year, first shift with a new team :(

Potted a couple later in a 3-1 win but my kid didn't mention that except to note I got a hat trick.

To hell with deflecting or kicking it into your own net. I just go low glove side.

I stole the puck off of a forward's stick and turned and went to fire it behind the net and beat my goalie just inside the post.

I made up for it with 2 goals and an assist later, but man... did I get sh!t for it.

In atom i was just playing atom A, and we played our AA team and we were winning 5-4 and took a penalty and they scored to tie it with 5 seconds left. That sucked, a lot, I hated those bastards.

For me it never got worse than sitting on a double-minor and getting goals scored on both PPs. I remember asking if I had to leave because I didn't want to skate back only to sit for god knows how long on the bench anyway.

I've probably at 100 penalty minutes in 13 years of hockey, and we were up by two against the cross town french team and I get called for spearing at the end of a play. I got 4 minutes, lost by 5 goals.

The corollary (although not entirely) would be killing off an extended 5 on 3 penalty and getting a shorthanded goal (not by me, I have no points) to win the game.

I decided I should throw the puck up the middle of our zone on a break out (Playing D) and it was picked off by an opposing forward and he scored! :D

Oh well, who gives a crap, it's adult league hockey!

Hey, that's like every shift for my D!

I haven't taken a penalty yet, but I've drawn a few. Haven't pulled any bonehead moves either, but I guess that means I'm over due.

I'm not usually so bad, but it happened in back to back games. The second would have been fine, but I whiffed on the pass. That one didn't lead to a goal (it was outside our blue line). Last game I played, not one pass in a dangerous area! Yippee!

Could have been my worst situation, Front of my net in a 3-3 game, the other teams throw it to the front i go to put it back in the corner tips off my blade, and while my goalie was sliding from the post hits his leg, Thank god i did not score, if i would have, would have never herd it down.

New England Prep School Playoffs - 4 mins left in the 3rd period, tie game with one of our big rivals, sophomore year. Other team has the puck behind the net, trying to make a pass out in front. I drop to one knee to try to block the pass, puck hits just below my knee and spins sideways, down my shinpad, off my foot into the net, we lose by a goal.

The worst part? When I got back to my dorm room the first thing my roommate said to me was "Nice goal". I almost threw his skinny ass out the window.

At least you feel bad. I swear to god I play with guys who don't even care that they get lazy penalties (despite it directly leading to us losing).

OMG is that not the truth. The worse thing is that type attitude is contagious.

We were playing a game on the ice at the Honda Center. As I come out on a line change and turn to skate up the ice the defenseman passes to the back of my leg. The opposing team grabs the puck, breaks away, and puts it itnto the goal.
