farrell gloves

Does the material the cubes are made from only come in white? I think if they used black or there was a way they could/would dye them they would look a lot better.

I think they look hideous but if I had the chance to try a pair, I'd give them a shot.

The lower end model actually looks like a modern glove. I just think they were gunning for a 4 roll nylon pro stock type glove here but with their blocks instead of rolls.

I'd use a white pair, but the black just looks cheap. Like some old Itech Nylons or something. Anyway it might be a good concept but I don't see myself buying a pair to be honest. We'll see.

I saw the glove in Vegas. Very light. Similar to the gloves it is modeled after.

I liked their concept for protection, but I thought the equipment was heavier than other brands. The shoulder pads, definitely, but I kind of remember the gloves being heavier also.

I could see somone in checking hockey being interested, but it seemed too bulky for a beer leaguer.

If you can get the cubes colored as well as the rest of the glove then I don't think they'll be any uglier than a lot of other top end gloves. One90's and Vector's come to mind immediately, like someone else said they aren't winning any beauty contests so to speak.

I doubt they wouldn't want contrasting "cubes," it's their big selling point.

I still see this as there biggest problem if they don't change the color of those cubes and I don't think they will be able to have them overpriced like their shoulder pads pretty much are.

I see the problem that they look like shit, I'm curious if anyone from these companies check out sites like modsquad because I cant understand how someone out there thinks this glove will sell

compared to other gloves on the market this just lacks any aesthetic value, it may be light and protective but a majority of people buy gloves on fit and how they look

well compared to one90´s or other high end gloves, they just look not quite finnished... i like the idea, and i am sure the glove will not be as bad as it looks. but if this is it, its not worth talking about.

It was stated that it was a prototype.

Well I'm sure the looks won't take a 180 degree change either, I'm sure it's a ballpark figure, aesthetically speaking, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got a bit "busier" in look.

I think the idea of whether equipment looks good/bad is a matter of a really finicky and easily manipulated public. If you look at that Nike hockey thread, there's such a split of whether stuff looks awesome or not, and how tastes change. Especially with most products being markets to teens/early 20s, what looks good is based on what everyone else thinks looks good. If Rbk or Warrior were to make a point to use the contrasting cubes, I think more people would be all over it. Also, if certain players can be brought in, kids will buy it (I don't think Farrell has the ability for this type of marketing). Because the image generally has nothing to do with preformance (yes, it does in some cases, not many) if you just convince enough people something looks good, everyone else will buy in too.

People love love to be "cutting edge," once others have made it safe. It would be interesting to see what would happen in some bigger company stole this design to see how people (not everyone) would be tripping over themselves to say how awesome it looks.

They certainly are channeling that RBK backroll vibe from a few years back.

Lose the cubes and what do you have? Just another pair of bland gloves in a flooded market. Sort of like designing a simple, all black OPS made in China with no distinct selling point.

Wait... they did what? It costs HOW much? Crazy talk...
