What do most consider the best tapered 2 piece shaft out there?

Recommended Posts

I loved my flyweight i had, but sadly that broke, now enjoying my L-2's. Haven't tried too many others yet though

im really enjoying my V-Hex2. Albeit its broken in a little bit and is now a bit too whippy, but its a great shaft with awesome kick none the less. its also one of the lightest shafts out there

speaking of the v-hex, i know this is a little off topic, but can you heat and pull the blade on a v-hex OPS, i did this with my pulse and it worked fine, just wondering if anyone has done it with a vhex.

I would definitely give it a thumbs up. It's alot more durable than I expected to be honest, as it has lasted me for about 6 months now. It's starting to get a tiny bit soft but nothing very noticable. It's also very light.

hey daigle how do you like the feel of the one90 blade?

What i said above lol. Sorry I quoted the wrong post.

Best tapered two piece is the old TPS R2XN10 paired with any blade. You can still find juniors and intermediates floating around but anything in a senior size is tough to track down.

Do the intermediate shafts take senior or junior blades?

Has anyone tried a broken M-1 tapered shaft? Is it anything like the L2? I know its supposed to be essentially an M1 but you never know. I've got two retail L2's and there differnt.

How are the two L2's you have different from each other?

For some reason I've always considered the L2 to just be a repainted M-1 but in tapered shaft form, and the M-2 the same but in standard taper. I've used the M-1 and currently use the L-2 and its shaft shape is a bit different going from the an int to a junior but it has the same sturdy feel to it.

the main difference is the shape. both the m1 and the m2 were smallish and rounded, while the L2 was boxy.

I had an XN10 that was sweet, but I broke it. Replaced it with a Dolo, and that has been awesome. I think the Warrior blades have better puck feel than the TPS blades. YMMV.

Just an FYI, I think the XN10 Armor Controls had breakage issues. I know mine broke the second time I used it (only composite shaft I've ever broke), but I thought I saw Chadd say something similar.

One of my L2's is boxy(the older model to be exact) and my newer one is more rounded and "smallish"

I have two L-2's, both have the same shape, but one has a "Made by Adila" stamp on it. I seem to think the Adila stamped one has a bit more kick, but it's probably psychological.

I haven't used an L-2, but I had 2 M-1's that I converted to tapered shafts after the blade went to mush and other than my TPS pro-stock, it was my favorite shaft/blade combo. IMO, the only thing that kept the M-1 from being an elite OPS was the blade (which is nice for a little while before it gets too soft).

I was gonna ask pretty much the same question.

I have no experience with Mission sticks. After looking at some Fuels I was wondering what people thought of the V-Hex2 tapered shaft.

I got it down to three - Dolo2, Vapor xxx-lite (or Vapor xxxx), or Mission V-Hex2.

Using a pro stock xxx-lite now. Would love to find another.

Dolomite. Dolomite blade is exceptional as well. XN10 had been my favorite until I tried my son's Dolomite. Both the Dolomite and XN10 seem to me to have a similar concave feel but the Dolomite fits my hands a little better.

My experience with tapered combos is pretty limited, but I absolutely love my Dolo shaft. Right now I'm using a Mission prostock blade, and the rig is fantastic...very light, great balance, transmits a TON of feedback/puck feel, and kicks shots out like a ninja on coke.

I'd love to find an XN10 with a whip flex to it the one at hockey world is stiff and will definitely be too stiff when I cut it down. Im sure nobody has found any of them out there and if so will probably buy them before telling anyone lol.
