Selanne is Back

Recommended Posts

I hope they at least make a strong push in the playoffs, would hate to see scott and teemu go out on a lackluster season (not saying they dont have a good chance). also good for burke to say it will never happen again, i dont know if im all for the half season deal.

Selanne is definitely a great player, without a doubt.

But I think if he was really that great, he would have played the whole season. And perhaps more importantly, he would be smart enough to realize that there is no possible way Boogaard tagged him with that puck in warmups during the 2007 first round of the playoffs....so he should just shut his big yapper.

Hey, if he wants to end his career on brief stint of regular season hockey and an early exit from the playoffs, its up to him. I just don't think the Ducks are going to be able to repeat what they did last year.

No offense intended to other posters on this thread (really)...but I'm a Wild fan, so ya can't expect me to like Selanne (or the Ducks) all that much.

I'm just thinking the "should I/shouldn't I?" moves by Niedermayer and Selanne are just their ways of staying Ducks and keeping them under the cap. The only reason I could see the Ducks not winning it again is just because repeats are hard to come by, but they're stacked a lot deeper than last year.

Personally, Selanne is my fav player, and even i dont like what he did. But think of how hard of a decision it had to have been. hes lucky enough to have had a 2nd chance after that blown out knee. And then hes playing better than he ever has, and suddenly he wins the cup.. If they hadnt won, he would have been back for sure. i'm not making excuses for the guy, but cut him a bit of slack. This isnt just a job for these players. For most of them its their life and what they love. Its hard to walk away.

I like him and I semi-like Niedermayer, too but all those moves stink! I guess it´s just Burke´s way of working within the new CBA *cough* *blame Oilers* *cough*

Thanks for the heads up, just dumped Kunitz for him. Hopefully he's not rusty as hell and starts getting plenty of shots and ice time right away.

Bertuzzi - Getzlaf - Perry

Kunitz - Weight - Selanne

Niedermayer - Pahlsson - Moen

May - Marchant - Bochenski/Parros/Sutherby

That just doesn't seem very fair at all.

Along with Nieds and Pronger logging 30 minutes that is disgusting. :o
