Polar Fibre Dolomites

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has a pic of a pro stock dolomite or dolomite shaft.

Also, if you could share your insights on the differences between the polar fibre grip, nipple grip I'd greatly appreciate that as well :D Thanks.

There's info posted in the pro stock AK-27 thread, and people have pics of their polarfibre Dolos in a few threads, including PS AK, "show it off" and Warrior PS blades.

Thanks I'll go have a look :D

EDIT: After a long reading session I didn't find any pics of PF Dolos in the AK-27 thread OR the Warrior PS Blade thread....

Some people call it a "sandpaper" grip, but I think that's a misnomer. It's a slightly rough textured grip, but not at all abrasive. Also not rubbery like the nipple grip. You'll likely have a strong opinion one way or another if you use it, very few people are indifferent towards it. I love it.

The Modano Dolomite shown above does not appear to be polarfibre, but the picture Hapamatt posted gives a good look at it.

Who killed Christ?

Why is there a Leap Year?

What is the Socratic method?

1. The Jews

2. In order to keep the calendar year synchronised with the astronomical or seasonal year.

3. Socratic Method (or Method of Elenchus or Socratic Debate) is a dialectic method of inquiry, largely applied to the examination of key moral concepts and first described by Plato in the Socratic Dialogues. For this, Socrates is customarily regarded as the father of Western ethics or moral philosophy.

Hope that helped but next time please use the correct forum to ask a question. And if you are going to ask a question in an already created post, please make sure it is on topic, thanks.

I will do so but only if you don't ask a question that's been asked numerous times.

If so would you mind pointing me to the answer?

whats that feel like? Is it grippy, or just scratchy-like?

It looks like it may be scratchy like those Montreal Nitro one pieces....

In the Ice Hockey Eq. forum (well, every forum) there is a box for "Search forum." Type in "polarfibre" and look at relevant threads.

The older Nitros were not a rough as PF. They are/were more of just less smooth than a clear shaft.

Polarfibre is a grip finish, it's pretty unique, search around for people's reactions.

The lighter shafts are PF.

yeah, we've talked a lot about PF in the past 2+ years, especially in recent months... this has been covered.

But, since I'm wasting time saying that.... The best description of it is like a cloth tape feel but it's consistent texture wise. It LITERALLY feels like you would imagine a fiber coated shaft, think of a thin, tight nylon coated hockey stick. Collects dust, dirt, baby powder and stick paint like nothing else.

The lighter shafts are PF.

Or the ones that say Polar Fibre on them? ;)

You can lead a horse to water....

yipperzz, why would you say that? I think the Sakic curve sucks because of the huge rocker but I wouldn't tell someone to not get it based on my own preference.

Ah, you're right. My bad, I should keep away from the internet when it's 3am.

But with that, if you don't know if you like PF, it's probably not a safe bet to just get it since you could hate it. First time I felt it was on a Danny Markov pro stock and I immediately fell in love and kick myself for not buying it. Despite him being a lefty it was a Dolo shaft with a blade.

I suppose if you do get one and don't like it, they do have a good resellability as long as you've got a flex someone wants.

I've got one of those Markov shafts. Polarfibre, oval shaft - a thing of beauty. I had thought I was done with standard shafts, too.
