davis 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I'm gonna have to go with Paul Coffey, Felix Potvin, Ron Hextall, Pat LaFontaine and Al MacInnis.Speaking of MacInnis, sat next to a lady on a recent flight who's from his hometown of Port Hood, which is in Cape Breton. She mentioned that he was home a little while ago, and she was speaking with him. Apparently, he rents a minivan for his trips to the east coast, seeing that he has 4 kids..and that she's skated with him a few times. Pretty cool stuff. But damn do I miss the Grip Lites...Mike Richter. No matter how bad the Rags were, he always gave 110% and gave them a chance to win games, or at least keep it respectable. moose77 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2008 Another vote for "The Flower". I didn't get to watch my first hockey game until the fall of 1979, just after we moved to Washington State. One night, I came across Hockey Night in Canada and the Habs were on. I was struck by one particular player, he wore #10, had this hair that flowed straight backwards like a vapor trail, and seemed to skate circles around everyone else on the ice. Of course the 1979-80 season was the end of his "glory days", and he finished third in scoring that year behind Marcel Dionne and Wayne Gretzky. A couple of years later he retired the first time before making his 3-year comeback (1 with the Rangers and 2 in Quebec). I did have a chance to see him play with the Oldtimer's Hockey Challenge in Vancouver a few years back and that was a treat. And now that the NHL Network is available in the States (THANK GOD!!!), I occasionally get to watch my favorite player, Guy Lafleur, play in his prime.
