adam14 182 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Alexandre Daigle comes to mind....but daigle is putting up big numbers in the swiss league! so in a way he isnt a one hit wonder yet... how about... tie domi and tucker? although i must admit tucker has done good lately. cxo 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Hey, he had his season in Philly, and now you rarely hear about him. He still qualifies even if you feel he was undeserving.
mik3 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Petr Prucha has shown numerous signs of a one hit wonder, but his second year was decent. 1 1/2 hit wonder?
Chadd 916 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Daigle never had one big season, his best year was 51 points and he did that three times spread over ten years. So either he wasn't a hit or he wasn't a one time wonder.http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/stats?playerId=190Rather than just throw names out there, back up your post with some numbers.Chrtis Simon had 29 goals in 99-00 and never had more than 16 in any other season, only 14 in any season after he hit 29.http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/stats?playerId=
mik3 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Since I've been watching hockey, Rob Brown is probably my ultimate one year wonder. He was always good at lower levels but never put it together at the pro level like he did in 88-89. It didn't hurt that he was on a line with a guy who had 199 points that year.
Penguinsfanatic 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Alexandre Daigle didn't achieve any success in the NHL, most people don't follow European leagues....so really he wasn't even a one hit wonder, he was one of the biggest draft busts in the NHL
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Not quite the same as some other mentioned, but how about...Paul DiPietro (92-93 Habs):17 Points in 29 Reg. Season games, then 13 points in 17 Playoff games AND A RING!He played 70 games the following year (33pts) and was traded to Toronto the next year. Pretty much disappeared after that. Plays in the Swiss-A League now.
Penguinsfanatic 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 How about Patrik Stefan 1st overall pick and his best season was a 14G26A40P season for his highest point total of his career...what a disappointment for being the number 1 overall pick

Vermette20 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 I wouldnt consider this player a one hit wonder, but after seeing his performance during the stanley cup playoffs, I kinda expected to see more out of him. Anyhow Fernando Pisani of the Edmonton Oilers. He has never put up more than 37 points during the regular season, but during the 05'-06' playoffs he had 14 goals and 4 assists in 24 games. Kinda thought wow maybe this is a breakout for him. The fact that he was only 4 goals off from his regular season totall after 80 games, was pretty impressive. Goes to show you never know who is going to step it up when it really counts.

srv2miker 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 How about a two-hit wonder? Jimmy Carson puts up 107 points for the Kings in 87/88, then gets traded for Gretz. Gets 100 in 88/89, then only reaches more than 50 twice the rest of his career.Having physical talent is one thing, but you need the mental game to stick. He could fly.Mikael Renberg maybe? 82 point season, than nothing past 57 the rest of his career, and the year he got that he played 47 games. Two good seasons, the rest were mediocre compared to his first two.Tckazuk was more of a bust. Him and Fata weren't to bad to watch in St. John though. Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I remember playing against Fata when he was all the rage - insane wheels, but always seemed to be going a hundred miles an hour to nowhere. Same thing with Malhotra - all the physical gifts in the world, tireless worker, but he just didn't understand. They're hardly failures - they've both had pretty durable pro careers so far - but they sure haven't lived up to their 1-6/7 draft positions.
mew1838 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I really want to say Cheechoo but he really does work his ass off during games lately. He is just not as confident shooting the puck. Seriously, he thinks he is like Nash now, trying to deke instead of shooting. Damn it, just shoot the puck!! That's all this guy's got.
mack 44 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Who gives a crap if he works hard? I could bust my ass to design a building but it'd still look like crap.

N!! 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Not NHL, but Bill McDougall comes to mind. In the 1992-93 Calder Cup playoffs, he played 16 games and had 26 goals and 26 assists (52 points!)Since then, it was 22 games in Tampa, then Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and the OHA.
