I'm curious as to how this Post was started under my name because I did not start it. But with that being said. LET THE GAMES BEGIN

Please, for the love of god tell me you did not pay for the Torspos.

Why not? They're the most comfortable skate I've ever worn to be honest with you. They are sold at few shops around here, including some of the more respected places. I got those at Dave's Sport Shop in Fridley, MN. Heck, they even have old Bauer 6000s and 7000s in various widths and sizes for cheap. Seems like they're getting rid of a lot of stuff right now to make room for the new Bauer and CCM lines coming soon. They had about 5 different Graf models on the wall too. Easton, Graf, Torspo, CCM, RBK, NikeBauer, Bauer..you name it...

I have heard many reviews similar to yours with regards to the Torspo skate, not to mention Keith Longino's (Sprung owner) recent Sprung conversion on a Torspo skate. A lot of people seem to be coming around with regards to comfort and quality over aestetics. Many will argue either with or against the recent trends in flashy skates from all manufacturers involved in the industry, but lets not forget that it is the fit of the skate that is the most important aspect to be cogniscent of for hockey. KOR skates, while not being the most clasically designed skates...are quickly carving a niche in the industry as being some of the most comfortable and best fitting skates, shy of a fully customized pair.

My issue with Torspo has more to do with how they got the molds to make the skates. There's a reason the skates look incredibly familiar.

I agree completely with you there, and understand your issue/apprehension with Torspo. I was simply defending the company on the bias of aestetics.

I really dont care about that. I just care about how they fit on my feet and I doubt none of us really know the story from both sides even though we may feel like we do. Its not like the materials used in these skates are "high tech" For hockey? maybe but the rest of the R & D and manufacturing world? No

Never claimed to know every aspect of the story, but the only version that doesn't match is the one from Torspo. Every other bit of info matches up. There's also a difference between R&D and slapping a new label on another person's product.

I'm not an expert by any means...The two skates are similar, but do have some differences. For some reason, the only place I've ever seen a Kor skate is at HockeyGiant.com and they're not respected as much as a LHS..Maybe a good place for a novice to get cheap skates perhaps..I dont know...but for some reason we havent seen much distribution of Kor skates compared to Torspo...well here in the Twin Cities anways..Torspo probably is a stronger company too...with at least 4-5 models of skates and the popular one-piece protective gear system I see at just about any LHS. Kor is going to have to find a way to get their skates out there if they're that revolutionary and comfortable. Any reason why I'm not seeing them in shops other than cost?

They were gaining momentum before the fiasco with the chinese factory that has been documented here a few times. They lost a lot of shops when they had to retool completely and have to start over again. As for being a more stable company, Kor produces a lot of sticks for other brands and is in fantastic shape. Torspo is just another third tier company that is using Chinese factories to make knockoffs of other products. I do think their onesie for kids is a neat idea.

As for seeing them all over MN, that's where the guy running the company is based, I would hope they could do well there. On pricing, they don't have any of the R&D to pay for. They're just buying skates from a factory that is using tooling someone else helped pay for. The amazing part is that Kor was rejecting around 60% of the skates that were made overseas, at least according to the people that talked to me. The childish behavior and personal insults from the owner/manager of Torspo when I asked him some questions was the icing on the cake for me.

Anyone have any gear to show off before this thread gets locked like all the other Torspo/Kor threads???

There's nothing wrong with exchanging ideas, it's only bad when it becomes personal and I don't think we're at that level. At least, I don't intend it to come across that way. That said, I'll split it all off as it is terribly off topic.

I guess from a consumer standpoint, if someone feels the Torspo fits their foot or budget better than Kor they won't care about the controversy.

Some will- I for one try not to support companies with bad business practicies. For example after the fake website scam Best Buy was running last year I won't set foot in there stores ever again.

The reason for my comment is two fold

1st: From what I have read about Torspo and Kor is reason one why I'm not a fan.

2nd: I look at this skate like a fat women (no offence to anyone, sorry in advance) My point is that fat women could be the best in bed however I will never know because I find fat women physically repulsive. As I do the Torspo skate.

The skate reminds me of an ugly cheap rip off of the Kor. Gotta love the T hockey stick figure.

Seriously, your saying you would rather care what looks better, or what people think of your gear, than giving a product a chance that might fit you the best and help you preform better?...That is basically what your saying. Nothing wrong with that though, to each his own..

That is partly true to what I am saying. Not that I care what others think as much as what I think a product looks like. Example; Say your on ebay and find your favorit gloves in your size but they are colored pink and green. Are you going to buy them to save yourself a few bucks? I really dont think so. Just like I dont think that you would take some Pig of a women to a club and show her off to your buds. Unless your a chubby chaser.

However most importantly the issue lies with Torspo pulling some B.S. as a company and attempting to rip off another company so blatently.

The skate is heavy like a fat women. LOL!!!

Points well taken...I understand where your coming from...I went back and read up on Torspo business practice and background and am on the same page with you there, kinda shady on their part...

SoCal guys, at some point, I will have a "demo day/night" at a local rink to try the skates and sticks. Will keep everyone posted.

I look forward to it.

There are some nice things to come from Kor. You will see them sooner than later.

Do you plan on doing any Kor events in MN? I havent seen these skates here other than at HockeyGiant. I assume that people would wear them if they are as good as advertised. The Shift2 is a nice looking skate and if they fit anything like the Torspo series I'd be interested. I love the mold to yur entire foot theory since Ive had trouble finding comfortable skates since I first laced them up.

I didn't have an LHS that sold Kor, but I was intrigued by the concept, did my research on MSH and bought from an out of town LHS. I couldn't be happier. 2 years on Shift 1's and just a week or two on the Shift 2's. Customer service with Kor can't be beat either.
