Hockey Contact Lenses

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if they make contact lenses for hockey or any sport lenses? I can't tell you how many times my eyes water due to the wind in my eyes skating.

I have contacts too, but also wear a visor so it's not a problem. Maybe you could try sport goggles or some such...

I know Nike had different contact lenses out. I believe they had red, grey, yellow (not sure.. just a guess). People I know use the red ones for baseball and hockey, also I've seen someone use the grey ones for golf, which I believe help pick out mounds and breaks.

My eye doctor told me about some Nike lenses which were rather expensive so I kind of wasn't listening. I'm sure a quick Google search would provide.

I have problems with bright lights with my contacts. For a while I have just dealt with it. I get a star burst effect from bright light sources and it's pretty intense. And the wind drys them out rather quickly too which quickly turns everything blurry. Combine the two and I'm blind really fast.

Maybe I'll look into these, I should. Some people say it could be a result of a wrong / too strong prescription. But this is a different case entirely.

I've been wearing regular contacts for over 10 years. I never had any problems on the ice with cage, visor or nothing. I also cycle a lot and don't get any problems.

It sounds like your contacts don't fit you correctly. Ask you optician to try some different base curves or diameters.

Some people have this problem with contacts, you get used to it or try a different brand/size of contacts.

There is no special sport contact lens the will resolve this.

I use contacts during hockey and glasses when im not playing hockey and mine are just 1 day use and you can throw them out. nothing wrong with playing hockey for me. Everything is fine but, does get blurry once in awhile.

I don't think they have contact lenses, but take a look at this link:

http://www.sportrx.com/

I live for the day when I walk onto a rink, and see a guy wearing these.

... Also, I wear contacts to play hockey and other sports, and I've never had a problem.

How much do 1-day use lenses generally run for....say I wanted to wear a pair 10 days per month?

I prefer glasses most of the time, but i'd really like some contacts that I can wear on game days then throw away.

I use Focus Dailys and I have for 8 years. They just sometimes catch some wind and make my eyes water and blur. I'll have to ask my eye doctor. Thanks guys.

I actually have seen it, guy who plays pick up with us wears them because his glasses are too obtrusive [has a very old big and thick pair] with his cage on

Yeah the goggles aren't completely rare. There's a couple guys that play pickup roller with us every week who wear them.

I have Nike MaxSight contact lenses...I got the orange tint ones for using when I play outdoor roller because I didn't like wearing sunglasses at the same time. They are pretty sweet, but I never thought to try them out on the ice...maybe I'll give 'em a whirl at some point.

Looks like they might not be making them anymore, I can't find them on Nike's website any longer and the site I ordered them from last year doesn't have them either.

I have used the red ones for ice hockey. I was pretty awesome, it was like wearing a tinted shield. I got them from my eye doctor.
