What do you do with a $165 stick you used once and don't like?

Recommended Posts

Got a rh 7k sick kick d16 drury blade, stiff, and I just don't like it. I took 3 shots with it and put it away.

Is there a site to trade this kind of stuff? I am sure I couldn't send it back to the store, eh? Just not sure what else to do besides put it up on ebay.

See if you have a teammate in similar shoes. Swap sticks and maybe cash to even out the trade?

Try Craigslist also.

put it on ebay.. you'll get most of your money back

Yup. Recently I sold an Easton Synergy ST and a Warrior Mac Daddy on eBay that were basically new, and recovered about 70% of the original price.

Post lots of pictures - I have found that the more pictures you post (especially close-ups of the blade), the higher the bids.

If you don't find a home for your stick, my dad's vegetable garden is full of hockey sticks to keep his tomato plants straight. It would be well used :D .

Interesting new use for a hockey stick. I keep a broken V10.0 as a "shaft/whampum stick" next to my front door to chase of Jehova's Witnesses. ;)

over here we call them "garden posts". Normally we use the broken wood sticks, they are great becauase they don't rot like cheap wood posts.

I put the sticks that I don't use/don't like in the basement. I have a lot down there, but after trying to sell a few things here, on ebay, and on local forums, and getting jerked around every time, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.

Do you live in a relatively well populated area? If so, how about putting it in the trade section with your location in the title?

Taking just 3 shots with a new stick is not enough to make a decision. I know so many people who hated a stick when they first got it, but after they adapted to it were proclaiming it was the best stick they ever used. I'd give it a few more tries before selling it.

That's why I've accumulated practically one blade with every curve. I know eventually I'm going to want to try a Drury, or Sakic, or Iginla, and I usually go back to the Forsberg, so at least I waste the $50 once.

Dig a hole in the ground, and bury it.

dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to salute a true warrior, as well as a great friend. He survived 3 shots, until it was his time to go.. Goodness we will miss him so much. Rest his soul.

If it didn't have soul, it wasn't worth $165....right?

If was bought less than 30 days ago, snap that bitch and get a new one under warranty. Your closest dealer might even give you a new one and send it back for you. Maybe for a $20. It is good to become friends with the Warranty guy at your store. Or girl.
