One90 vs 1500C

Recommended Posts

with both being high end skates which skate is better?!

(other then 1500 being cheaper?)

both are discontinued as of 2008.

are there any advantages that one would have over the other or it's purely personal?

Thanks!

Besides the differences in fit, the 1500 has a more forward pitch than the one90. I think the 1500 is a wider skate than the one90. I skated synergy for over a year and was very pleased with them. I've never skated bauers but I think the build of the synergy is very solid. If you have a good deal on them I don't think you'd be disappointed (assuming the boot fits your foot).

Did you just say the build quality of the Synergy's are solid?

As much as I love my 1500's, there is 0 chance I'll be buying another pair. The fit and the weight of them are fantastic, no probs there, but thats where the good qualities of the Eastons stop.

The runners and holders are crap (switched mine out for LS2's after 2 weeks on the Razor's), and the build quality of the boots have already been well discussed here.

Mine, after 1 year, are trashed. Both boots have the common un-gluing of the outer textile/carbon boot, the toe caps are almost totally torn off, and each skate has at LEAST 5-6 eyelets that are gone/bent/half disintegrated.

well - sounds like I'm second to that... after one season my 1500s look like crap.

Initially I started a thread about replacing RBII with TUUK (got mixed responces), but now I'm thinking of just replacing the skate all together & going with One90 (I'd put a 3mm heel lift right away to have the same pitch) - after all it's just $100 more (if buying online) then replacing just the holders @ the LHS

Eh two things about the 1500's, one people always bitch about the holders and the steel. There isn't much wrong with them other then the fact that they don't say LS2 on or TUUK on them, so some people hate them.

As far as the skates coming apart, they will come unglued, but a little spot work with a tube of super glue will fix things up no problem. I've had two pairs and both still have the toe caps simply because I've glued them back when they start to come off.

The only problem I've come across with teh 1500's is the rivets are so thin in the footbed that they then to rust way to fast, even with taking the footbeds out and drying the skates after every skate.

Given the price you can pick up 1500's on the internet right now, if they fit your foot, I'd pick up a pair or two.

Which one is better? The one that fits your foot.

The ONE90 is better, it gives more of its time and money to charity and adopts underpriviledged kids from Africa and South America.

I'd have to disagree actually (unless by "adopts" you ment "employs") since Nike is knows for using child's labour...

Not that it matters now since they sold Bauer but still...

It's not like they force the kids to work. People always complain about how in China and other BRIC's people make less than $2 dollars a day. These people appreciate the work, and two US dollars a day goes pretty far over there.
