did anyone else feel like the exercise section of the dvd was just an infomercial for the bunjie cord thing he uses?

its probably made by his trainer and thats his way of repaying him?

still a nice dvd though

i think in terms of overall quality this is the best hockey video i've seen. the presentation is really slick and the drills he does are pretty creative. the key thing is is to really watch rather than just listen. he doesnt go much into techniques but if u watch carefully you'll learn plenty of things. also disk 2 was pretty good, with the documentary and the making of.

Yeah, I just picked this up for $15 at my local Barnes & Noble... I unwrapped it, and check out the poster included, and it's basically a workout pamphlet for the MTS workout bands... I haven't even popped in the DVD yet, and it reeks of informercial. Ah well, $15 to a good cause is money well spent.

I watched disk 1 this afternoon. Definitely some good skill stuff to work on. Stick handling on on your knees is hard...I tired it tonight during warmup.

Early on in this thread someone commented that it is directed at very young players...I don't know if that is the case. Because he doesn't go right back to root basics...I think players who will benefit most from this are good to better than average players rather than beginners. Players who want to strengthen skills rather than learn them from scratch.

Some of the game situation examples are far form elementary, IMO.

The workout stuff looks good too for someone looking to increase their off ice training...

Looking forward to disk 2. Might be a couple days before I get to watch it...I think I heard the playoffs start sometime soon *S*

$16 bucks to a good cause...I'll sleep well tonight.

I paid $19 for it, just watched most of disk 1. Not bad....I wish there was a little more time spent on shooting though, rather than just showing basic wrist, slap, snap shots. I would have like to have seen off-wing shots and one-timers too.

If this is a success...gotta save something or Vol 2.

i just saw the clip, on youtube, where kovalev goes behind the net during a game vs. boston and picks up his glove after losing the d-man. anyone know why he dropped it in the first place? was it purely a coincidence that his glove happened to be where the puck was after he got checked/deked? i only saw one angle so i need some help on that.

I ended up buying this DVD. The on ice portion of the DVD is well done but the off ice exercises aren't very interesting to watch and the background music gets very redundant and annoying after the first few.

I really enjoyed the "Mr. Kovy" documentary, especially the part with the saxophone player playing in the field while 2 billy goats are walking around near him (seriously...lol).

Oh, and his Wife is damn cute.
