CCM DST 952s. THe skates were uncomfortable so I decided to keep skating in them in hopes that they would break in. THe arch was so wrong for my feet that they ended up stretching the tendons in my right foot, and I was in crutches for three weeks.

I regreted buying the CCM 1062 skates some guy at Peranis fitted me for. They were my first decent pair of ice skates and I really wanted to be fit by a knowledgable salesman who could help me find the right skate for my feet. I ended up with a skate .5 size too small with no arch (when clearly my foot has a massive one) that was causing the balls of my feet to bruise to the point that it was extremely painful to walk after a game. I kept weraing them for around 4-5 months figuring they needed more break in before I finally broke down and bought some Graf's that actually fit.

Hmm....... Mission Amp 2s were very disappointing. Graf 709 was a disappointment to some degree. What bummed me out most however was how I could never get a pair of Nike V12s to stay together since I loved the fit and performance of them so much.

First pair of skates that a local shop fit me for were way too big, hated them. I loved my 852s, regretted my 952s and 727s. Finally found a pair of sktates that fits like my old 852s (S500) and I love them.

I regret those old Nike Air Accels.

So does everyone.

I have a friend (playing for kitchener rangers) who went all nike when they first released their stuff. He began to have pains all over his foot, and brought the skates to his doctor. He looked at the skates, left the room, came back with a sledge hammer and litterally smashed the skates.

My second pair of skates ever. I had some used Bauers as my first skates and I wore them for two or three years. When I finally out grew them, I purchased a pair of CCM 952s with Tuuks, which at the time were top of the line. I bought them off of a guy for around $250, so it wasn't a huge amount of money, but I could never get used to them. My old skates that were 1 1/2 sizes too small fit better than the 952s.

I wish i got my bauer 7000s a size smaller because it seems that everyone on the southside of Chicago can wear "D" bauers, so I ordered the wrong size because I couldn't try the right size on to begin with. I needed E

Bauer Classic Golds and Vapor XX's. I was fitted for both and both were a joke. The Classic Golds were too heavy (even compared to my Air 90 skates that were being retired) and too awkward. The Vapor XXs were a lot lighter but the construction of the boot was junk and the inner padding wore down within two months of skating 3 to 4 times a week. Talk about over hyped.

My regret is buying a pair of Easton Z-Air Comps from the Vancouver Canucks' equipment sale. I thought I was getting the deal of the century and hey, the width was great, but little did I know they were way too long.

After a bake and the third time of asking my local pro shop to punch them out they guy said they didn't fit. I said they did. He told me to take the insole out and place my foot over it. I did, and the insole went past my toes for almost two inches.

Luckily I sold the skates to a friend who knew a lot more about skate sizing at the time so my losses were minimized (a bit).

By the way, I'm pretty sure the skates use to belong to Matt Cooke.

Live and learn.

bought vapor 10's 5 years for $450 ago and loved them. Bought graf 735 tblades 2 months ago and those are nice in that you just don't lose an edge really at all ever! But something about Bauers and the way they fit my feet. Thinking of finding another pair of vapor 10's and selling the grafs.. anyone wanna buy... they are excellent condition, never been baked!

If they were way too long, why on earth would you have been getting them punched out?

Chippa / Tyler:

I was getting the skates that we're too long for me punched out around the ankles. It hurts just thinking about it!
