Removing Helmet logos

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'd like to remove the CCM logos from the side of my 492 helmet and replace it with my team logo. What would be the best way to do this without damaging the plastic? Thank you very much!

wow I had no idea that you could cover them up.

Anyways, if you don't wanna do that. You could always use Go-gone. A type of solvent for removing sticky stuff. I would use that and an soft pot scrubber like an SOS pad. It took off all my bauer logos on my 5000 helmet but left a couple weird marks. I would cover them up if I were you.

That voids the warranty and can damage the helmet.

anyone ever use eucalyptus oil? its supposed to be a disinfectant as well and smells pretty good

just add the oil to the logos, and it would allow you to actually slide the stickers off. I never believed my wife until she told me it got rid of some glue residue from the outside of those glass bottles.

If it's a black helmet, electrical tape will work fine. I use it on my ref helmet, and you can't even tell it's there unless your within 4-5 feet.

Some leagues won't let players on the ice without those stickers.

Thats interesting, I thought the only sticker you couldn't remove was the one that says that the helmet is certified. Perhaps I'm wrong.

He doesnt want to cover the safety stickers, but the 'CCM' or 'Bauer' logos on the sides. I used black Hockey tape.

Doesn't putting stickers on a helmet also void the warranty?

The stuff from Decals4pros is certified to not damage the helmet. I had them send an affadavit when I sold their stuff.

The college league around here says you must have all stickers off your helmet and must wear an ACHA sticker.

The teams should have a deal with a shop to order "pro stock" versions that only have the front logo on the helmet.

NBH and CCM/RBK have made it easier by putting their logos on the adjustment system and taken it off the side of the helmet. Electrical tape or the stickers Chadd linked to.

Thanks for the tips guys. I might see if the LHS carries those helmet stickies. I just play in a beer league, but our team's got a pretty sweet logo and I kinda wanted to show it off on my lid. My uncle makes vinyl decals, which is very cool. But anyway, I'll definately be on the lookout for those sticker things!

Which league is that? You have to have an ACHA sticker on all helmets which isn't even enforced.
