CCM Vector Pants

They look to have a more euro cut, aka longer but that's just me judging from the pictures. Anyone have them or know more?

Is "euro cut" a commonly used term? I don't really understand what you mean when you say euro cut means longer?

I'm not having a dig or anything, just curious :)

Seeing as that they haven't been out long, not many people will be able to give solid advice. Try them on if you get the chance, but they LOOK solid (read, don't buy off the internet without having some clue what you are getting).

I bought them a month ago and could not be happier with them. Great protection, incredible mobility without restriction. As far as the fit they are not bulky at all with lots of room. I think one of the more interesting features is the leg zippers where they actually open up and provide more room to put your skates through. Real Quality pant for the price.

Euro cut typically refers to a pant that is narrow in the waist, flat in the kidney areas, and then flares out toward the bottom of the pant. ie) Tackla, Graf.

I think Cavs explained it pretty well. That was my idea of 'euro-cut' pants, a pant more privy for tall people with a small waist that allow for better range of motion. It doesn't mean more padding for us euro wussies

I have to say, from the pictures the new CCM line looks pretty protective, at least down to the V04 pant.

they look quite nice.

Indeed.

Mind telling me your height and the size you wear? And what you think of the length of the pants...

Sure I'm 6'1 and I wear an XL. I would say the length is normal mine stop right below the top of the shin guard. I hope this helps. Like I stated above they fit me perfect and are by far the most comfortable I have ever owned.

Anyone else tried these? Do they compare to Tacklas in fit?

I am currently wearing some Tackla 5000's in size 46, but they're too small. Had Easton Stealth S5's in medium that were too big. Picked up a pair of Vapor XXV's in medium that are a bit big and I'm not sold on the protection. Tried the One90's in medium and they just seemed a bit restrictive, didn't quite fit right, also a bit big.

I'd love to find some Tacklas in size 48, seems that would do the trick, but they don't list dealers around me, and I've got a $100 credit to Hockey Giant, which is conveniently out of all Vector pants in the store.

These pants caught my eye too. I am between 6-2 and 6-3 and am having a little trouble finding pants that are long enough and skinny enough in the waist. Hope these run a little longer than other pants.

Skinny waist and longer legs would be perfect as far as fit.

it's a lot of pant for the money... lots of protection around the hip area, so it may be a little too much for the chunkier guys out there. a touch on a heavy side as well, but pretty light in comparison to the RBK 9k.

The fit on these is actually a little loose for me, and I'm 5'10" 138lbs. My waist is about a 32, but for the length I had to get the 34-36 size, and I use the belt on my shell plus a skatelace to hold them up. If they don't fit you perfect in the waist, then there isn't a whole lot on the 06 pants to tighten, your best bet would be suspenders, a lace, or a shell.

So my point is the tall skinny profile wasn't a good fit for these pants without added tightening mechanisms. Now that I have those adjustments, they are a great pant for me.

I have been looking at buying a pair of these to replace my CCM 692 pants.

My question is this. I bought a pair of Mission Fuel 120 pants and hated them from the minute I got them, far too bulky, too much padding and felt way too restrictive, probably too big a jump from the lower end CCM's to the top end Missions. So which Vectors do you think I should go with, stick with the V6's (which I reckon should be the upgraded 692's?) or try the V8's.

Just in case, I play 3 to 4 times a week, minimal contact.

P.S. Forgot to add, can't really try them on, hockey stores in Scotland rarely carry much stock. Thats why any advice is appreciated.

I went from 652's to the v06, and didn't notice a whole lot of a difference. The v08's seemed to have too much padding to the point that it was restrictive. I love these pants now, and I recommend that you go with the 06's, just can't see justification for the price and model jump to 08's.

After two skates in my vector pants I'm very happy with them. They're protective enough and not restrictive. I definitely would recommend them to anyone.

Those pants look pretty solid to me. CCM is coming out with some pretty decent equipment lately and I'd definitely consider those pants for sure. The fact they look like a Euro-cut pant is enough for me because I wear Tackla and Graf presently and love the fit. The padding in them is probably better than what I wear simply because it's a North American made pant. I give em a go chief!

I checked out the V08 pants and they seemed quite solid but ended up going with the Vapor XXV, mainly because I had a gift card to Hockey Giant which didn't have any of the Vectors in stock. Seems almost like the V06 is the comparable pant to the XXV because they're lighter and less padded. Loving the XXV's, lightest pants I've worn, don't move around either.

Which Graf pants do you wear? I have the black 700s with the zipper/velcro on the legs so I can put my skates on first...Love em..

I wear the 700's in black with the leg zippers as well. Excellent mobility and good protection although as I previously stated not as beefy as a North American pant. Still more than adequate protection for the hockey I play.

I've had the V08's for a couple of months and LOVE them. They look bulky as hell but when you put them on they don't feel bulky at all. The protection on them is excellent. I like to stand in front of the goalie a lot to screen him and that means that i'm getting cross checked a lot and i don't feel a damn thing...compared to my Mission fuel pants that I had before. I personally find that they're a bit short but I like them like that. I'm super happy with them and would recommend that you at least try them on if you're in the market for some new pants.
