Kovy_Ribs_Fedo 3 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 On all of my ak27 shafts, the grip is peeling after just a couple of icetimes...Is their any shafts that have a good tough grip on that do not not peel much? Thanks for help
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 Unless you can find an old Grip-lite, they all are going to peel.
gxc999 7 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 Almost any type of grip wears off, no matter the stick or cost (one90, TPS A/C etc). The only stick I found that hasn't is the old RBK 7K Pro-lite, which had the "pro-feel" grip on it. It felt good to me, not at all too sticky and I personally prefer the non-grip sticks and tape where I like.
A2rhino 63 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 I gave up on the grip shafts and went with the spray on PW'R TAC. This way you can modify to your likeing. Alot or not much at all. www.powrtac.com
Patrick67 1 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 Out of curiousity, are your ak27's the old grip version or the current nipplegrip?IMO the easton SE grip coating is awesome, it does peel though but nothing too serious. Tactile grip and Snake grip are the only ones that don't wear on me, but I doubt they are grippy enough for you.
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 They both are just as bad.

Curious; Why does the new Easton ST shaft only but not ST stick have the tactile grip on the non grip version?
5HoleMadman 6 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 I love the polarfibre grips. I have 3 warrior shafts with the polarfibre they're great. Does anyone know if that powrtac stuff would work on a blade for roller hockey?
A2rhino 63 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 Does not work for blades. It is a grip feel not a tactile feel. For the ZTAC feel you'd want to go with a non skid tac spray. Like the Krylon clear non-skid coatingAlso the Bladeshark panels are AWESOME

A2rhino 63 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 I love the stuff. It drys fast and has NO effect on your gloves. If I had a retail store I would sell it for sure. I've been using it now since 2004.BTW; If you have a wood stick it works even better.

A2rhino 63 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 It's the usual feel. However with that being said, if you spray to much on it you will get a super grip. So it is advised to use conservatively. Let me know if I can offer you any more help.

Aussie Joe 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 I found that the grip peeled worst on the yellow synergy grip. especially in wet in warm weather.Mine held strong, from using it in the middle of January (38.C) and on the ice (4.C). I lost small amounts only from ppl hacking the crapoly out of my stick.

mack 44 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 Agree on the first gen (MM) Z-Bubbles or Grip-Lites. I still have some of the MMs and they have the same grip (the best they ever made imo) they did from day one.
A2rhino 63 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 So I wonder if it was a change in materials that caused the Easton Synergys and sticks today to peel. Once again money is always the case.... Why not stick with what works? I'll never understand that?? How has the grip lasted on the NBH stuff? I did always wonder about the TPS Rubber grip? Curious why they did away with it. Kovy_Ribs_Fedo 3 Report post Posted July 14, 2008 In fact, I've had the same problem with Warrior. The first batch of them I bought in 2006, the grip was perfect and very though. But since then, the grip is horrible on them. I don't know what has happened with that???So I wonder if it was a change in materials that caused the Easton Synergys and sticks today to peel.
