lampliter87 8 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 Saw a commercial on TV last night for Star Wars "Clone Wars", a Pixar-esque looking cartoon apparently coming "to a galaxy near you". Supposedly it falls between Episodes II and III. Anyone have anymore information? Is this legit or similar to the Cartoon Network series that was aimed at 8-year-olds? FYI I saw the commercials on both FX and Spike, leading me to believe is geared towards an older audience.Hopefully it's something worth seeing.

I doubt it will be like th C3PO/R2D2 or Ewoks cartoons of the mid 90's *L*

Gummer12 134 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 IIRC...it is supposed to be like just a Saturday cartoon, and yes, set between II and III.
Steve_v3 289 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 The Clone Wars movie is supposed to be more like the movies than the series on the cartoon network. The movie is the start of the upcoming TV show of the same name. I think it should be decent. the trailers look good : Clone Wars videosIn a couple of years there will be a live action TV show that is suppose to be just like the movies (production Value). None of the main characters but Boba Fett is going to be in it.
mack 44 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 Exactly. This movie is basically a few episodes of the new Clone Wars series lumped into one, leading up to its debut on TV. It's just really odd not seeing a Fox logo associated with this. The animation has yet to grow on me but I do like the action I've seen from it. I figure since there will never be a 7-9 trilogy, they'll milk what they can out of the Clone Wars since it leaves open a lot of possible storylines.

I don't know what they based that on...but I always hoped they would do them. Seeing how GL messed up most of the Ep1-3 movies...and ruined the "re-dos" of the Orig 3 (Greedo shooting first, Jabba and Han in Ep 4 )...I hope he leaves it alone. Aussie Joe 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 There are limited sections of the movies (I-III) that I stomach because they are awesome. The Darth Mual duel come to mind as the main one. But the chronology sucked and lets face it Lucas has never been a great writer for dialogue; just action sequences. I really felt the prequels lacked allot, but lets face it the animated movie could be awesome, it could be crap. Either way its a cash cow that LuasFilm will cash in ASAP. He's a BAMF, regardless of how good/bad/otherwise it would be.

Steve_v3 289 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 Lucas's biggest mistake was directing Ep 1, 2, & 3 himself. I think there are two plot lines he could expand on. A Ep 7 - 9. A lot of people would like to see how Luke, Liea, & Han "restore" the republic. I would like to see Darth Vader and the Emperor between Ep 3 - 4. The book Dark Lord " the rise of Darth Vader" Was very good. A movie seeing Vader open a can of whip a$$ on Jedi and anyone in his way would be pretty cool.Unfortanetly Lucas will only do what he wants. He is such a control freak. I guess in some ways thats good but fans would have enjoyed Ep 1-3 more if he wasn't. I read That he is thinking of remastering the original triology in 3D. mack 44 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 Though I like them, after the slight disappointments in Eps 1-2 I thought he should have taken Spielberg's offer of letting him direct the third. I'm glad he didn't as I put that movie right at #2 of my all-times (thanks to TDK) and don't think Spielberg could have done any better with its dark tones. Sure, the dialogue is atrocious but I can watch that movie and not tire.
lampliter87 8 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 There are enormous amounts of Star Wars literature fitting in anywhere in the series, it would be possible to make more movies before, after, or during any point in the saga, but it would get a pretty excessive if they did.And Mack, how can you possibly say Boba Fett is overrated? Race4LastPlace 31 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 And Mack, how can you possibly say Boba Fett is overrated?i agree with mack here. What does boba fett actually do in the movies? granted some books had his image inflated, but other than looking 'cool' he is pretty useless.

RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 Well, Slave 1 caught up to the MF and he captured Han Solo. :)After seeing Ep3 and the death of Jango Fett...and knowing a bit more about Boba's past, it is dissapointing to see how quickly he goes down in ROTJ. The little tap to the jet pack and he flies into the pit.

Patrick67 1 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 RadioGaga: Bobba Fett didn't die in the scarlaccs(?) pit... I remember reading the background story on him, where it was stated he mad it out of the pit after a long struggle, most sw caracters have (more times than not) really deep and intresting background stories. Race4LastPlace 31 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 but still, for a character who is in the movies for about 15 minutes total, theres a lot of obsession over him. how many are dressed in mandalore armor at comic-con? I just got back from my game, our goalie has a boba fett tattoo on his arm. also he sanded and painted his own helmet debuted it today black with red mandalorian boba fett emblems. the most overrated supporting character. ever.
