I don't see a balance being needed at all. Reps don't want the pic out, so out of respect it won't be posted here just like all the other things that have been kept from being posted before. Even for a site full of gear nerds, I don't see the point in seeing a skate that's not going to be available to them for some time, let alone anything groundbreaking and new.

Yeah Id tend to agree with that. I mean Ive seen the catalog in person and the ridiculous xray pages and could really care less about seeing the X series right now.

In fact Im more impressed with the look of the new Flexlite line. It looks like a basic bread and butter black boot and white holder skate. I have never been a fan of too much bling on a skate. (exceptions: All white skates, and Ovie's skates from last season)

Bauer is keeping the flexlite going, NICE!!. Now that interests me more than the X60. Thanks Fastbrother.

Bauer is being so stupid about this, they kinda deserve this. But...as a person how do you go into a strangers bag without asking, not only is it illegal but it's the biggest display of douchebagery ever.

The true tragedy of the story indeed is that the rep is said to be getting let go (if not having already been) because a customer went into the reps bag, removed the skate, took the pic, all while the rep was thanking the store owner/manager for their time.
just so everyone knows, the guy who took the picture of the skates is now fired from his job.

EDIT: Changed "someone" to "a customer"

I hope Bauer comes to their senses and backs off.

There is more secrecy to this skate than the Air Jordan and LBJ shoes (I did see the pic and it wasn't anything special). But from Bauer or any other company, I can understand why they want to prevent pictures and product info popping up all over the internet).

What are you talking about? Why would you have no sympathy for the employee. He didnt take the picture. Some stupid customer came in and took it while he was talking to the manager of the store. The guy was just doing his job and jot fired for it.

Fine, you said you knew the employee (i assume the one who took the pictures) and the rep. All I want to know is what the rep did. Did he knowingly let the employee take the pictures or what?

The rep would NEVER let the employee take the picture of the skate! The rep was in a different area of the pro shop when the employee went into the rep's sample bag, took out the skate, and took the picture. The rep did NOT know this was happening.

Okay, that is the answer I was looking for. So why dont you feel sorry for the rep that got fired? I think bauer just over reacted, they shouldnt punish the guy buy firing him.

1. I know the ex-employee because he plays in the mens league at my rink.

2. For the record, as of 15 minutes ago, the rep confirmed to me he has not lost his job.
