theres a few players using older skates, I think Naslund uses/used them but they just made them look like a newer model. Modano and Chelios I believe use older model tacks (still in producction tho), and Yanic Perrault uses/used an old model skate too. I'm sure someone can confirm or add to the list.

I think it is the 652s that a bunch of guys cling to. I might be off a model or two but I think Kariya wears 4000's.

There is no way the Chelios/Modano skates are still in production. They're the old CCM 652s right? I believe Perrault used the old Daoust skates for a long time. I think he had to black them out though

The 652 are only made for those players.

Perreault wore Daoust for a long time, not sure if he is still in them.

Kariya wears 8090 with a TPR outsole. He wore Supreme Composite 5000 before that.

arent the 652's that modano and chelios use different from the retail model? they look like a graf 703 boot with the ccm wings sewn onto them instead of the retail model which has a stitched boot with a smooth leather tendon guard and back piece (i stull have them in my posession)

That is the exact size of the ones that I bought. They come up on eBay from time to time, but it can take a while. It took me 6-8 months of looking these before ones showed up.

I can assure you that NONE of the ones we sold at RDV had em. All of the emps were too busy taking them out of the box and keeping them for themselves! I think I still have 3 pr.

Sportchek still has Vapor 10s in the GTA - in fact, they're in stock at the Eaton Centre - for $389, I believe.

I'll be on the lookout for thermal socks... :D

Hahaha I've been to that Sportchek.

For those who don't know about the Thermal socks, Bauer included a pair of socks to be used with the baking of the skate. Had the Bauer logo and "Thermal PFS" on them.
