Easton Stealth CNT

Recommended Posts

Mods may delete, but I really couldnt find anything...What out there is comparable to my Easton Stealth CNT grip? I use a 100 flex Sakic.. These are getting hard to come by! Is the S17 similar or very different? I've yet to use one of those so....Any other CNT fans out there??

Shaft shape, feel and kick from CNT to S17 is pretty different. What's the most important aspect of the CNT you'd like in a replacement?

A lot of people are raving about the CCM Vector U+, Bauer Vapor XXX Lite, and the Bauer Vapor XXXX in a lower flex than you normally use.

It depends on what about the CNT you like.

I know many people like the shaft shape, in which case you just need to look for sticks with concave shaft dimensions. Granted not many are quite as extreme as the CNT, there are some out there.

It is the most responsive stick I've ever used. Just a little wrist snap and it just rockets toward the net or out of the zone on a penalty kill, plus I like how it feels in my hands. My Torspo 221 is similar, but I doubt we'll see any more of those around either.

Have you tried any of the new TPS', R8 or R10? Their OPS generally have better feel than most and also offer a similar concave shape to the CNT, I can't really speak to their performance though.

And they want goalies to have smaller equipment. :P

I will say the construction of the shaft, materials and design is excellent. The S-17 is nothing like it.

I could be way off here but I'll give it a go. You might even take a look at the One95 (Or even One90s on clearance) They won't match exactly, but they're solid sticks. And If you can find a One90 (Peranis has plenty left) you can pick them up for 119.

Like I said, I may be way off, but they'll at least have the same shaft shape.

The ONE90 shape is not anything like the CNT, the CNT has a significant concave.

True, but there aren't a whole lot of sticks out there today that have a shaft shape that concave.

I had the Stealth CNT (still have one on a Sakic 85) and then picked up an S17. I preferred the S17 but both are great sticks. I find the S17 more responsive than the CNT and personally find the shaft design to be more comfortable. If you are comfortable with the S17 shaft I'd give that one a whirl. Talk about rockets...whew! Slapshots sail and writers whistle!!!

Why did they stop making the Stealth CNT? Is the S17 technology that much more advanced or the other Easton Sticks sold better?

S17 is a pretty great stick, I loved the feel and release, they just left too much out of the blade to balance it out and keep weight down which means it doesn't last long. S11 (next lowest with ellipse?) might be worth checking out.

Who knows why they dropped the CNT, Easton doesn't keep one model around very long, except in shafts it seems.

My son and I both loved the CNT, was the best shooting stick we had tried until the S17 came out. I like the S17's balance, read post/reviews of some who don't....within 10 minutes on ice I was comfortable with it. Its a 'hot' shooting blade so you need good hands to receive a hard pass-similar to CNT so shouldn't affect you.

My son got S17 Friday, by last nights practice he could feel where puck was on blade without looking down-he's a big Stealth CNT fan but found an improvement shooting.....finds when he could lean into a one-timer it really took off.

If you aren't dead set on an OPS, the S15 shaft/blade combo feels a lot like the CNT in terms of shaft shape. Can't compare on performance though because I never had a CNT. The S15 is a nice stick though.

Are you sure about that? Those shafts feel totally different in your hands.

S15 = Zbubble. Last time I held a Zbubble it was the same as a Synergy shaft; dimpled kevlar texture with boxy walls and every so slightly rounded corners. Don't know if the latest iterations have been different.

I did use an older Z-carbon, which would be nothing like a Stealth blade, '05, CNT or S17. Z-carb CNT didn't feel much different, but I didn't use that but for a few shots with a buddy's stick.

the s15 has a smoother finish and the corners do seem alot more boxy than ur average synergy shaft.

a word of caution if you go for the s15 shaft AND blade. it will be worth getting the shaft in the next stiffer variant, ive noticed that i over torque with mine on slappers and i think its just due to the parabolic flex zones on both the shaft and blade. snappers and wrister are good with less effort required though.
