Help From The Stick Experts

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if someone could recommend a stick based on the requirements i'm looking for. I recently played with an Warrior Mac Daddy, 70 flex int. I'm 5'6" and cut two inches off of the 57" Int sticks. I like the smaller shaft feel of the Int sticks, but i think the 70 flex with 2 inches cut off is too whippy for me.

What im looking for is a company that makes a flex just above the 70 flex but with an Int size. I've looked at the Bauers and have 2 of the 77 Flex XXX Lites, but they're too boxy in my hands. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

didn't the cyclone become the S5?

Octane is the S5, comes in 80 flex. Cylone's been gone for a while, came in 70 flex I think.

Out of Bauer 67, CCM light & medium, TPS int, Warrior is already the stiffest intermediate flex I've tried (Dolomite int shaft).

I see a lot of the people I know who are short and use intermediate sticks tend to use the Bauer Endure2 for some reason. They're a sharp looking stick though..My team colors, but I've yet to see one in a SR configuration.

Bauer makes the xxxx stick 'um and the one95 stick 'um in a 75 flex. It is an intermediate stick offering. Shafts dimensions are the same as any other Bauer int. stick. That sounds like it would fit the bill. I'm pretty sure its the stiffest int. one piece offering out there.

what would the flex be if you cut it down 2 inches for a 67 or a 75 flex from bauer? Cause i know its different from easton flexes when they get cut down

I think it's roughly 4% per inch, no?

If so, then you're looking at a 67 becoming a 72.3 and a 75 becoming an 81.

I may be wrong, though (going from foggy memory, here)

Wasn't the cyclone designed for women with the smaller shaft dimensions are lower flex? Actually I had one a few weeks ago but gave it away to a peewee in need of a stick

I forgot about the stiffer XXXX intermediates. That's a great idea.

I don't know if my Cyclone was mismarked, but the 70 flex felt like it was way over 100 flex. I didn't cut it down at all. It was almost as stiff as a TPS Rubber X-Stiff shaft I got for next to nothing.

I remember thinking Cyclones were stiff as hell too..not sure what was up with that shaft.

There was a 95 cyclone as well. I know a lot of guys who used them.

I had one for about 2 weeks, but I broke it over a goalpost. Like an idiot.

I played in an inline ball hockey league for a few years and tried quite a few OPS and shaft setups... I settled on the 95 flex Cyclone Shafts and didn't change it till I went back on the ice. They always seemed to have great snap, never too stiff...
