Dany Heatley's shield

Recommended Posts

I've debated numerous times on switching back to the cage from visor. I've had couple of close calls, (shoulder to the mouth, stick to the face, even had a puck go off my stick up under my visor). But the visibility is so much better with a visor and it actually helps to prevent my contacts from drying out.

Is that visor on hockey monkey the same size as Heatley's visor? Or just the same cut?

Both. Heatley's visor has the 'vents' dremeled off. If you watch a Sens game, you can see where the vents used to be at certain angles.

i'm sick of using my cage. it impairs my vision so much. i'm using a white jofa ?980? and it pisses me off every day of the week.

i'm seriously contemplating this beastro (i play high school, so i need a full-face). i'm sure it's heavy as shit and it looks retarded, but wouldn't it be the best of both worlds?

I've used a cage my whole life, so it dosen't really bother me. I've always wanted to try a visor, but I just don't know if I want to take the chance or not.

Have you ever considered using something other than a white cage?

Yeah. A few years ago I used a chrome Jofa 980, a couple years before that I used the original Bauer True Visions. I switched to white because I do think it's better than having black, chrome, grey, etc. I guess I don't really know where to turn to next.

I agree. If you save and zoom in on this pic you can see the oval cutout on the side the same as the 910

im thinking about getting the vr910, but i wanna cut the vents off, do i need to be worried about being very precise when cutting so i dont end up causing a crack on the visor?

i like to tilt my visor up from time to time, just something i always do, and with the vents, they prevent me from tilting it, on top of that just more aesthetically pleasing w/o vents.

Use a dremel

Don't have one :/ what else could i use??

Agreed on the aesthetics part, but as you can tell, I've never used a visor before, though I've been looking at this one now for a little bit.

As well as some foot guards, looks like they're coming off the bottom of his shins. Strip of red tape, front tuck skates, plus those flappy guards just looks bad.

Almost like he's tryin to pull off the Pronger look...

...bit of an old pic there.

Looks like he put his hand right through Brodeur's head...no wonder why Brodeur has been out so long! :P

What's up with his skate tape job? Goes from the top of the boot...where the tendon guard and the boot meet, to the bottom of the shin guard...trying to figure out the advantage..

Go to Home Depot, Ace Hardware, or any large discount auto parts or hardware store and buy a cheap imitation Dremel for $15-$20. It's a p.o.s. if you want to do any real work with it but as far as cutting through a visor it'll do the job just fine, then down the road you'll find more uses for it until you totally break the thing (I had one for about 4 years and used it for odd jobs here and there before it lost all usefulness).
