how to remove spray paint from a hockey stick

Recommended Posts

You can lightly sand it...or get a razor blade and scratch at the paint....you're likely to remove some of the graphics underneath as well though.

Goo Gone has worked for me on some cheap spraypaint, so you could give that a try. Paint thinner on a rag also has worked without removing the graphics underneath, but you have to be careful.

or just tape the area with the paint and give it a couple of days and remove it

it should take off some then scrape off the rest

but imo just leave it as the bottom of the shaft is black anyways!

Try using some Paint Thinner (spray paints are mostly Alkyd aka oil base.) Acetone is more for breaking down plastics (latex based paints.)

Just pour some thinner or a rag and away you go. Spray paint is pretty hard to get off though from personal experiences.

What was the turnout here? I'd think that things like Naval Jelly would also soften or weaken the composite underneath but I don't know if there is any chemical conflict there or not?
