National Sports Stick Sale

Recommended Posts

I just got back from buying a new referee bag. While I was there I noticed they had their annual christmas pro-stock stick clearance going on. Some of the Easton's they had were the blue and black Stealth CNT's.

Does anyone know if these are real CNT's? The shaft did not feel as boxy as the CNT retails nearby, but they were as light as the retails.

Depends on the name. I know some of the Riccis we had were definately NOT stealths. They were the exact same as you described, not at all a boxy shaft, yet still light. Aside from that, the paint job was noticably different from the retail CNTs. Im guessing it was either an older synergy/stealth or an SE. However, we do also have two different CNT models, Hejduks and a blank righty mid curve which both seem to be legit CNTs. I tried to find a seam in the Hejduk ones because I know he always used to be a 2 piece guy, but I couldn't find anything.

What store were you in?

national sports and sport check and other retail stores don't get pro stock sticks in. for example if you were to buy a stick at a national sports and go to say toronto hockey repair and compare it wouldn't be the same thing. There is a national sports in pickering ontario that has a ware house of old pro stock sticks. i bought a mission pulse there that was originally priced at 259.99 i got it for 79.99. it says pro stock no warranty right on it. oh the other thing that is good about that store is you can find curves like no where else. the one half of the store is full of pro sticks. its great.

I was in the Windsor store, and the "Stealths" were marked "Dowd". Either way I'm heading back tomorrow and picking one or two up because the flex and curve were perfect. I know it is frowned upon but I do give the stick a touch of flex, and it felt around 90 if I had to guess. Retail Drury with a 90 flex is perfect for me.

I know what you mean about the paint job. All of the Dowd's I was looking at were lined up next to each other and the fade to blue and black was at a different spot on all of them.

On another note for all you near the Windsor store, I know a lot of people like the Darby curve, there were 3 of the "CNT'S" in the Windsor store with a Darby pattern. As well there are a bunch of SL's with Sakic and Drury curves.

$119.99 for the Stealths and SL's. - I am speaking only about Right Handed sticks though, not sure what is there for lefties.

Not totally sure what your trying to say?

But I am not sure were you are getting your information but I can assure you ALL Pro Stock Over Run sticks at National are as advertised and come directly from Easton.

Hey OTG, not to steer my own thread off topic but do you know if any Windsor hockey stores will be getting that Blackstone sharpening system? I read through the other thread and seems like something I could take advantage of (never been the fastest of the skaters).

On a different note, I talked to one of the employees tonight when I went back to return the ref bag (zipper was messed) and the Dowd CNT's are indeed like someone said up top, SE's. This won't stop me from getting one on pay-day, but just in case anyone else encounters the CNT prostock's at their local LHS. The Darby curve CNT's are CNT's however.

At the moment I cant see one coming there but if I could put a new machine somewhere I would put one in Windsor.

If you're looking at Windsor, I'd talk to the guys at Maximum Edge out by our Airport. They are generally thought of around our city as the best guys to get your skates done.

If you go back through the other thread I think you will see I work at National and I dont think Bob would let me tell him how to sharpen.......Seeing as he was one of the guys that taught me.

you could go to national in pickering and spend a lot less and get 10 times the stick

I highly doubt you can find many sticks better than a cnt for less than a buck twenty, especially under the same franchise

the ones at nationalports sport check or any other main stream retail store. The sticks may be from easton but are a production stick not custom made are not individual pro sticks made for a certain player only basic sticks. mission slow cures there pro sticks. production doesn't.

You do realize that some Pro's use a stock curve on there own shaft preference.

And that anyone older than 12 should be able to construct their thoughts into proper sentences. Proper spelling and grammar aside, the communication is just not there man.

And where does Mission's manufacturing technique play into Easton pro stocks?

maybe next time you write in you should do it with a crayon.

it doesn't matter if "some pros" use a stock CURVE with their own shaft. thats not what this thread is even about. THE STICKS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT ARE MADE FOR THAT PLAYER! IF IT SAYS BOYES ON IT THAT MEANS THIS STICK IS HIS ACTUAL STICK THAT HAS BEEN RETURNED NEVER USED! BUT ALL THE POWER TO YA KEEP BUYING CHEAP PRODUCTION STICKS FROM CHAIN STORES THE BLADE MIGHT LOOK LIKE A PROS CURVE BUT IT'S NOT EXACTLY THE SAME! I FEEL BAD FOR PEOPLE WHO WASTE THEIR MONEY AT THESE STORES.

Toronto Hockey repair is a store in Toronto that carries real pro stock / pro return products. He's saying National Sports doesn't carry real pro stock products and just marks them as pro stock
